ANNOUNCEMENT OF CONTRACT JOB VACANCIES
Kahama Municipal Council through the Health, Social Welfare and Nutrition Division and in consideration of the National Guidelines for Volunteering by Health Professionals, the Kahama Municipal Director wishes to announce to all citizens with qualifications and interest in working at Kahama Municipal Council to apply for Contract positions starting from 07 March, 2026.
1.0 MEDICAL OFFICER II – POSITIONS (05)
1.0.1 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
To be employed, one must have a Doctor of Medicine degree from a University recognized by the Government, who has completed practical training (Internship) approved by the Medical Council of Tanganyika and legally registered with that Council.
1.0.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF MEDICAL OFFICER GRADE II
• To perform all medical activities in the Hospital related to common diseases, paediatric diseases, maternal conditions, and general and emergency surgery.
• To perform all preventive and community health activities and devise strategies to combat communicable diseases.
• To supervise staff in wards and other work areas.
• To provide counselling to patients and the community at large.
• To teach students from Medical Colleges.
• To teach and professionally develop existing staff within the hospital.
• To conduct research on diseases and disseminate research findings to the community.
• To plan, monitor and evaluate the provision of health services.
• Other duties as assigned by their supervisor.

1.0.3 SALARY SCALE TGHS E1
Considering Government salary scales at the TGHS E1 level per month and as directed in the National Guidelines for Volunteering by Health Professionals, applicants for Contract positions will be paid half the salary of the respective advertised position.
2.0 RADIOGRAPHER II – POSITIONS (02)
2.0.1 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
To be employed, one must be a Form Four/Six graduate holding a first Diploma in the field of X-ray Science from the University of Dar es Salaam or any other college recognized by the Government.
2.0.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF RADIOGRAPHER II
• To perform disease investigations using various methods of Radiation Science.
• To maintain and ensure radiology equipment functions properly.
• To assist doctors in the preliminary interpretation of images.
• To process and store radiology images.
• To perform minor equipment maintenance.
• To perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor related to their education, experience, and skills.
2.0.3 SALARY SCALE TGHS B1
Considering Government salary scales at the TGHS B1 level per month and as directed in the National Guidelines for Volunteering by Health Professionals, applicants for Contract positions will be paid half the salary of the respective advertised position.
3.0 GENERAL TERMS FOR ALL POSITIONS
i. The applicant must be a Tanzanian citizen aged between 18 and 45 years.
ii. The applicant should attach a copy of their Birth Certificate.

iii. Applicants should attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (C.V.) containing a reliable address and phone numbers along with the names of three reliable referees including their phone numbers.
iv. All applications must be accompanied by copies of Educational and Professional certificates from Government-recognized institutions, and certified by an Advocate or Commissioner for Oaths.
v. Testimonials, provisional results, statement of results will not be accepted.
vi. All applicants who studied outside the Country must ensure their certificates are subjected to equivalence verification by TCU and NACTE.
vii. For all applicants for the MEDICAL OFFICER II position, they are instructed to attach a valid License.
viii. Applicants should attach one recent passport size photo.
ix. The Application Letter should be written in Swahili or English.
x. The deadline for submitting applications is 14 March, 2026.
