Isamilo International School in Mwanza, Tanzania, is owned by the Anglican Church of Tanzania under the auspices of the Diocese of Victoria Nyanza. Job Summary:
The school is seeking a dedicated, experienced, qualified, and motivated Laboratory Technician to support the effective delivery of science education within our primary and secondary school. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing laboratory materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safe laboratory practices for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare laboratory equipment, chemicals, and materials for science lessons and experiments.

  • Assist science teachers during practical lessons when required.

  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure all apparatus is clean, functional, and safely stored.

  • Monitor and manage laboratory inventory, including ordering and organizing supplies.

  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and procedures.

  • Dispose of chemical waste and hazardous materials according to safety guidelines.

  • Support the organization and preparation of practical examinations.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Technology, Science, or a related field.

  • Previous experience working in a school or laboratory environment is an advantage.

  • Good command of the English language (both written and spoken).

  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills.

  • Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and chemical handling.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Reliable, proactive, and well-organized.
