ANNOUNCEMENT OF CONTRACT TEACHING POSITIONS IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS FOR BUSINESS STUDIES
The Prime Minister's Office – PO-RALG, in collaboration with Educate! Tanzania through the project for improving the teaching and learning of Business Studies, is implementing an initiative to enhance the teaching and learning of Business Studies. The Office hereby announces 400 contract teaching positions for Business Studies teachers to serve in secondary schools experiencing a critical shortage of teachers in the following regions: Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Manyara, Simiyu, Kagera, Geita, Tabora, Dodoma, Morogoro, Pwani, and Dar es Salaam.
The objective of this project is to support the implementation of the Education and Training Policy of 2014 (2023 Edition) and the revised Secondary Education Curriculum, which emphasizes the teaching of Business Studies to enhance entrepreneurship skills among students.
Accordingly, graduates holding recognized Bachelor's Degrees are invited to apply for contract teaching positions in Business Studies in secondary schools. Applications will be submitted through the Official Government Recruitment System of the Prime Minister's Office – PO-RALG. The application period begins on 1 June 2026 and ends on 14 June 2026. Contract teachers will be employed under the terms and conditions established by the Local Government Authorities.
1.0 APPLICATION PROCEDURES

This announcement is intended for graduates with a Bachelor's Degree in Education specializing in Business Studies and graduates with Bachelor's Degrees in Business-related fields or Economics from institutions recognized by the Government.
2.0 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants for these positions must possess the following qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree from a Government-recognized institution in one of the following fields:
- Bachelor of Education in Business Studies / Business Education
- Bachelor of Commerce (BCom)
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
- Bachelor of Economics or Bachelor of Arts in Economics
- Bachelor's Degree in other Business-related fields

Basic knowledge of Business Studies, even without prior teaching experience.

Ability to use computers for basic teaching and learning activities.
3.0 GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLICANTS
Applicants must:
(i) Be a citizen of Tanzania;
(ii) Be not more than 42 years of age;
(iii) Attach copies of their Birth Certificate, Form Four Certificate, Form Six Certificate (where applicable), and relevant academic certificates;
(iv) Be willing to work in secondary schools with a severe shortage of teachers;
(v) Understand that they may be transferred to another station or school assigned at the beginning of the implementation period of this contract program;
(vi) Not be employed by the Government or any other institution;
(vii) Not have been dismissed or terminated from public service due to misconduct;
(viii) Possess a National Identification Number (NIDA);
(ix) Upload all required documents into the system;
(x) Applicants who completed their secondary education outside Tanzania must obtain an Equivalence Number beginning with the letters “EQ” from the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA), and applicants who studied at universities outside Tanzania must obtain recognition from the relevant authorities;
(xi) Attach an application letter.
