SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT
MASTERCARD FOUNDATION SCHOLARS PROGRAM TENABLE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA – 2027
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program tenable at the University of Pretoria, South Africa for the 2027 academic year.
Scholarship Level
The scholarship is available for:
- Undergraduate Degree Programmes
- Honours Degree Programmes
- Master's Degree Programmes
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants will receive a fully funded scholarship covering:
- Full tuition fees
- Accommodation
- Meals
- Living allowance
- Books and study materials
- Medical insurance
- Leadership development programmes
- Mentorship and academic support
- Entrepreneurship training
- Internship opportunities
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be citizens of an African country.
- Demonstrate academic excellence.
- Demonstrate financial need and face economic or social barriers to higher education.
- Show leadership potential and commitment to serving their communities.
- Meet the admission requirements of the University of Pretoria.
- Apply for admission to an eligible programme before applying for the scholarship.
- Refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
Application Procedure
- Apply for admission to an eligible programme at the University of Pretoria.
- Download and complete the appropriate Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program application form.
- Submit the completed scholarship application together with all required supporting documents electronically to [email protected].
- Shortlisted applicants will be invited for interviews before the final selection.
Application Deadlines
- Undergraduate admission applications: 31 August 2026
- Postgraduate admission applications: 30 September 2026
