Kitengule Hospital invites applications from qualified, experienced, and dedicated medical professionals to fill the following positions. We are seeking compassionate and highly skilled specialists committed to providing exceptional healthcare services and contributing to the continuous improvement of patient care within the hospital.
1. PEDIATRICIAN
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of pediatric medical conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Providing comprehensive care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents.
- Conducting pediatric consultations, assessments, and follow-up reviews.
- Managing pediatric emergencies and coordinating appropriate referrals when necessary.
- Utilizing laboratory, radiological, and other diagnostic services effectively to support patient care.
- Participating in ward rounds, multidisciplinary team discussions, and patient management meetings.
- Maintaining accurate, complete, and timely medical records and reports.
- Participating in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, continuous medical education programs, and the training, mentorship, and supervision of junior medical staff where applicable.
- Undertaking any other duties assigned by management in line with professional competence and hospital requirements.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Master's Degree in Pediatrics and Child Health or an equivalent recognized specialist qualification.
- Valid registration with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT) and a current practicing license.
- A minimum of one (1) year of post-specialization clinical experience in pediatric practice; however, highly competent newly qualified specialists may also be considered.
- Sound clinical knowledge and experience in the diagnosis and management of pediatric conditions.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality healthcare, and professional ethics.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible and willing to work scheduled clinics, ward rounds, emergency calls, weekends, public holidays, and other service arrangements as required by the hospital.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based medical practice.
2. GENERAL PRACTITIONER (GP)
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting medical consultations, examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with a wide range of health conditions.
- Managing common medical illnesses and emergencies within the scope of general practice.
- Referring patients to appropriate specialists or healthcare services for further evaluation and management when necessary.
- Ordering, interpreting, and effectively utilizing laboratory, radiological, and other diagnostic investigations to support clinical decision-making.
- Maintaining accurate and timely medical records and documentation.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Undertaking any other clinical duties assigned by management in line with professional competence and hospital needs.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a recognized medical internship program.
- Valid registration with the MCT and a current practicing license (mandatory).
- At least one (1) year of experience working as a General Practitioner; however, exceptional candidates with less experience may also be considered.
- Sound clinical knowledge and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to medical ethics, professionalism, and patient-centered care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding healthcare environment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and willing to work flexible schedules, including shifts, weekends, public holidays, and on-call duties as required.
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and support hospital operations based on service needs.
3. ICU ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER (ANO)
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Monitoring patients' vital signs and promptly reporting any changes in patient condition to the responsible clinician.
- Assisting in the management of patients requiring life-support equipment, including ventilators, monitors, infusion pumps, and other critical care devices.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed and in accordance with nursing standards and hospital policies.
- Maintaining accurate and timely nursing records, reports, and documentation.
- Ensuring strict adherence to infection prevention and control protocols.
- Assisting in emergency procedures, resuscitations, and other critical care interventions.
- Collaborating effectively with doctors and nurses to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives, continuous professional development, and departmental meetings.
- Performing any other duties assigned by management in line with professional competence and hospital requirements.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC) and a valid practicing license.
- Additional training or certification in Critical Care Nursing, ICU Nursing, Basic Life Support (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) will be an added advantage.
- At least one (1) year of working experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), High Dependency Unit (HDU), or Emergency Department.
- Sound knowledge of critical care nursing principles and patient monitoring.
- Ability to operate and monitor ICU equipment effectively.
- Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, commitment to patient safety, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Flexible and willing to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, public holidays, overtime, and extra duties as required by hospital operations.
4. NEONATAL ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER (ANO)
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing comprehensive nursing care to newborns admitted to the Neonatal Unit, NICU, and KMC wards.
- Monitoring neonates’ vital signs, growth, feeding patterns, and overall clinical condition, and promptly reporting any abnormalities.
- Assisting in the management of premature, low-birth-weight, and critically ill newborns requiring specialized care.
- Administering medications, intravenous fluids, oxygen therapy, and other treatments as prescribed.
- Assisting in neonatal resuscitation and emergency interventions when required.
- Supporting and educating mothers and caregivers on breastfeeding, Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC), infection prevention, and newborn care practices.
- Ensuring proper infection prevention and control measures within the neonatal unit.
- Maintaining accurate and timely nursing records, reports, and patient documentation.
- Collaborating with pediatricians and GPs to ensure optimal neonatal outcomes.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives, sectional meetings, and continuous professional development activities.
- Performing any other duties assigned by management in line with professional competence and hospital needs.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC) and a valid practicing license.
- At least one (1) year of experience working in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Neonatal Unit, Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), or similar neonatal care setting.
- Demonstrated experience in providing Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) services and supporting mothers of premature and low-birth-weight infants.
- Training in Essential Newborn Care, Neonatal Resuscitation, Helping Babies Breathe (HBB), or related neonatal care programs will be an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of neonatal nursing care, infection prevention, breastfeeding support, and newborn monitoring.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond promptly to neonatal emergencies.
- High level of professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient safety and quality care.
- Flexible and willing to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, public holidays, overtime, and on-call duties as required by hospital operations.
5. UROLOGIST
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of urological conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Performing elective and emergency urological procedures and surgeries within the scope of practice.
- Providing consultations and expert opinions to other healthcare professionals when required.
- Utilizing laboratory, radiological, and other diagnostic services effectively to support patient management.
- Maintaining accurate, complete, and timely clinical records, reports, and documentation.
- Participating in ward rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings, Continuing Medical Education (CME), and clinical meetings.
- Contributing to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and implementation of best practices.
- Supporting the hospital in the development and expansion of urology services.
- Undertaking any other duties assigned by management in line with professional competence and hospital needs.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and a Master's Degree in Urology.
- Valid registration with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT) and a current practicing license.
- A minimum of one (1) year of post-specialization clinical experience in urology practice; however, highly competent newly qualified specialists may also be considered.
- Demonstrated competence in managing both routine and complex urological cases.
- Strong commitment to professional ethics, patient safety, and quality healthcare delivery.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexible and willing to provide services through scheduled clinics, ward rounds, emergency calls, operating theatre sessions, weekend coverage, and other service arrangements as required by the hospital.
