FIXED-TERM CONTRACT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The Tanzania Public Prosecutors and Government Attorneys Association (TPBA) is a professional organization that brings together Government Attorneys with the objective of strengthening the legal profession, promoting good governance, enhancing professional ethics, and improving the delivery of quality legal services in Tanzania. In order to strengthen its day-to-day operations, the Association invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill the following positions:

  1. PLANNING OFFICER II – 1 POSITION

Duties and Responsibilities

A. ASSOCIATION PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT

i. Plan, prepare, and implement the Association’s programme work plans and budgets;

ii. Supervise the day-to-day implementation of Association programmes to ensure they are carried out as planned;

iii. Ensure Association resources are utilized in accordance with approved plans;

iv. Monitor programme implementation to ensure the achievement of established objectives;

v. Identify and resolve challenges arising during programme implementation;

vi. Coordinate communication among various Association stakeholders;

vii. Prepare programme progress reports and submit them to the Secretary of the Association;

viii. Perform daily operational and administrative duties as assigned by the Secretary;

ix. Carry out any other duties as directed by the Secretary of the Association.

B. ASSOCIATION PROJECT MANAGEMENT

i. Coordinate project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation;

ii. Prepare project proposals, budgets, and funding applications;

iii. Supervise project activities in accordance with approved work plans;

iv. Prepare project progress reports and submit them to the Secretary of the Association;

v. Collect information for the preparation of plans and budgets and participate in their development;

vi. Manage relationships with development partners and Association stakeholders;

vii. Perform any other duties assigned by the Secretary.

Qualifications

i. Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in one of the following fields: Planning, Investment Planning and Financial Development, Human Resource Management Planning, Economics, Statistics, Project Management, or Business Administration;

ii. At least two (2) years of experience in project and budget management;

iii. Ability to prepare project proposals and documentation;

iv. Proficiency in ICT, computer applications, and modern project management systems;

v. Ability to work independently and collaboratively;

vi. Knowledge of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) will be an added advantage.

  1. OFFICE MANAGEMENT OFFICER – 1 POSITION

Duties and Responsibilities

i. Open and close the office on time;

ii. Receive and distribute documents, letters, and parcels within and outside the office;

iii. Ensure cleanliness of the office and surrounding environment;

iv. Receive visitors and direct them to the appropriate offices;

v. Monitor the availability of office supplies and report requirements to the supervisor;

vi. Maintain office records;

vii. Type letters and various office documents;

viii. Maintain office filing systems;

ix. Assist in organizing meetings, seminars, and other Association activities;

x. Coordinate appointments and schedules of leaders;

xi. In collaboration with the Planning Officer, assist in daily operational activities;

xii. Perform any other duties assigned by the Management.

Qualifications

i. Holder of Form Four (O-Level) or Form Six (A-Level) education;

ii. Holder of a Diploma in Secretarial Studies from a Government-recognized institution;

iii. Must have passed Kiswahili or English shorthand at a speed of not less than 100 words per minute;

iv. Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Internet, and E-mail;

v. Good communication skills and ability to maintain office records;

vi. Honest, disciplined, hardworking, and committed to duty;

vii. Physically fit and capable of performing office duties;

viii. Experience in office work or public institutions will be an added advantage.

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR ALL APPLICANTS

i. Must be a citizen of Tanzania;

ii. Attach an application letter written either by hand or typed;

iii. Attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with reliable contact information, including details of two referees and their reachable telephone numbers;

iv. Attach copies of academic certificates, birth certificate, or National Identification Card;

v. Academic certificates obtained outside Tanzania must be verified by the relevant Tanzanian authorities;

vi. The contract period is two (2) years;

vii. Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years of age;

viii. Duty station is Dodoma Region;

ix. All positions will operate under the supervision of the Secretary of the Association;

x. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews.
