Available Vacancies
1. Research Officer (1 Position)
IHI is seeking a highly motivated graduate to work on genomics and transgenesis research under the Transmission Zero Project. The successful candidate will contribute to laboratory-based research activities aimed at advancing malaria control and elimination efforts in Tanzania and Africa.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a science-related field, preferably Molecular Biology or Biotechnology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills in English and Swahili.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in molecular biology and parasitology techniques is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of STATA or R Studio will be an added advantage.
2. Research Scientist (1 Position)
The Research Scientist will support advanced genomics and transgenesis research activities within the Transmission Zero Project. The role focuses on molecular biology, gene editing, malaria parasite studies, and laboratory research aimed at developing innovative tools to interrupt malaria transmission.
Key Requirements
- Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Parasitology, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of molecular biology techniques.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and research methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Swahili.
- Experience in molecular biology and parasitology research is an added advantage.
Duty Station
Both positions are associated with the Transmission Zero Project based in Bagamoyo and the wider IHI research program in Tanzania.
