CONTRACT EMPLOYMENT VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT
The Executive Director of Tunduru District Council invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill contract employment vacancies in the following positions:
1. MEDICAL DOCTOR II (10 POSTS)
a) Qualifications
Applicants must possess a Degree in Medicine/Doctor of Medicine from a recognized institution approved by the Government.
b) Duties and Responsibilities
i. Perform all hospital treatment services related to various diseases within their professional field.
ii. Plan, supervise and evaluate health services at district or regional level.
iii. Train students from health training institutions within the working area.
iv. Diagnose, monitor and prevent disease outbreaks.
v. Prepare continuing health education programs for health service users.
vi. Train and supervise subordinate staff.
vii. Supervise employees under their responsibility.
viii. Initiate, conduct and monitor research and disseminate findings.
ix. Initiate and prepare projects aimed at improving service quality in their profession.
x. Provide outreach services in the district.
xi. Provide medical-legal services.
xii. Participate in the preparation and implementation of Government health policies and plans.
xiii. Advise the Ministry on the management of grassroots health services.
xiv. Participate in Medical Board Committees for assessing employees with health-related issues.
xv. Prepare health education materials for service users.
xvi. Prepare plans and budget estimates for health services.
xvii. Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor according to qualifications, experience and expertise.
Salary
Contract Medical Doctor II will be paid TSh 900,000 per month.
2. ANESTHESIA SPECIALIST (01 POST)
a) Qualifications
Applicants must possess a Diploma in Anesthesia and Anesthetic Medicine from a Government-recognized institution.
b) Duties and Responsibilities
i. Assess patients before surgery.
ii. Administer anesthesia.
iii. Monitor patients during surgery.
iv. Manage pain.
v. Care for patients after surgery.
vi. Participate in emergency services.
vii. Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Salary
Contract Anesthesia Specialist will be paid TSh 600,000 per month.
3. ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER II (30 POSTS)
a) Qualifications
Applicants must possess a Diploma in Nursing from a Government-recognized institution and be registered by the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council.
b) Duties and Responsibilities
i. Provide nursing services.
ii. Collect important health statistics.
iii. Supervise nursing staff under their responsibility.
iv. Educate patients and communities on health-related issues.
v. Provide preventive and curative health services.
vi. Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor according to qualifications, experience and expertise.
Salary
Contract Assistant Nursing Officer II will be paid TSh 250,000 per month.
4. CLINICAL OFFICER II (09 POSTS)
a) Qualifications
Applicants must possess a Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a Government-recognized institution.
b) Duties and Responsibilities
i. Perform all duties undertaken by an Assistant Clinical Officer.
ii. Examine and treat outpatients.
iii. Supervise subordinate staff and perform minor surgical procedures.
iv. Participate in planning and implementing Primary Health Care services.
v. Advise and motivate citizens to utilize Community Health Fund services.
vi. Maintain records of equipment and tools used in service delivery.
vii. Maintain records, prepare and submit implementation reports.
viii. Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Salary
Contract Clinical Officer II will be paid TSh 250,000 per month.
5. PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNICIAN II (02 POSTS)
a) Qualifications
Applicants must possess a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a Government-recognized institution and be registered with the relevant professional board.
b) Duties and Responsibilities
i. Identify, prepare and estimate requirements for medicines and medical supplies in the workplace.
ii. Dispense medicines and medical supplies to patients and clients.
iii. Mix and prepare medicines.
iv. Store medicines and medical supplies properly.
v. Educate the community on the proper use of medicines.
vi. Receive medicines, chemicals, disinfectants and medical supplies.
vii. Provide information on adverse effects resulting from medicine use.
viii. Coordinate the activities of the hospital medicines committee.
ix. Prepare reports on the use of medicines and medical supplies.
x. Conduct quality assurance inspections on medicines, chemicals, disinfectants and medical supplies.
xi. Perform various duties in medicine storage areas.
xii. Supervise subordinate staff.
xiii. Maintain records for medicines and medical supplies.
xiv. Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor according to qualifications, experience and expertise.
Salary
Contract Pharmaceutical Technician II will be paid TSh 250,000 per month.
6. TEACHER GRADE III B/C (16 POSTS)
Subjects:
- History
- English Language
- Geography
- Commerce
a) Qualifications
Applicants must possess a Teaching Certificate in Arts or Commerce subjects.
b) Duties and Responsibilities
i. Prepare work schemes, lesson plans, teaching notes and work plans for assigned responsibilities.
ii. Prepare and repair teaching and learning materials.
iii. Teach, assess and maintain students’ progress records.
iv. Supervise and monitor students’ attendance in school and classrooms.
v. Supervise students’ extracurricular activities including sports, culture, clubs and provide guidance and counseling.
vi. Provide professional and academic advice regarding educational development.
vii. Supervise and safeguard school facilities and property.
viii. Perform any other duties assigned by the Head Teacher according to school responsibilities.
Salary
Contract Teacher will be paid TSh 300,000 per month.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL APPLICANTS
i. Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and should clearly indicate their disability status.
iii. Applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) including reliable contact address, telephone number, email address and names of three referees.
iv. Applications must be accompanied by certified copies of academic and professional certificates including Form IV and Form VI certificates, Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Certificate qualifications, Computer Certificates and Professional Certificates from relevant boards.
v. Applicants who submit Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statements of Results, Form IV and Form VI Result Slips will NOT be accepted and will not proceed to the next stage of recruitment.
vi. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and recognized by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA and NACTVET).
vii. Public servants should not apply unless they have obtained permission from their respective employers.
viii. Applicants who are already employed in the Public Service and wish to apply for entry-level positions should follow the guidelines contained in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November 2010.
ix. Applicants who provide false information regarding their qualifications will be subjected to legal action.
x. Applicants whose names differ in their documents must submit a registered Deed Poll issued by the Ministry responsible for Lands.
