Position: Geologist (Junior)
Position Summary
Nyati Mineral Sands seeks to employ a Junior Geologist reporting to the Deputy General Manager. The successful candidate will support geological and exploration activities by collecting, analysing, and interpreting geological data while ensuring work is conducted safely and efficiently to support the company's mining operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in ore control, geological mapping, sampling, logging, and assaying activities.
- Collect, record, and maintain accurate geological and exploration data.
- Support geological fieldwork, drilling programs, and sample collection.
- Assist in Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) of geological data and samples.
- Contribute to the preparation of geological reports and technical documentation.
- Support the development and updating of geological models and mine plans.
- Participate in exploration activities to identify and evaluate Heavy Mineral Sand resources.
- Assist in maintaining geological databases and ensuring accurate record keeping.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and mining regulations during field and office activities.
- Work collaboratively with the mining, survey, and processing teams to support operational requirements.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology.
Experience Requirements
- 0–3 years of relevant experience in mining, mineral exploration, or geological fieldwork.
- Fresh graduates with internship or industrial training experience are encouraged to apply.
