We are looking for a dynamic and customer-focused professional to join our growing team at one of our customer sites in Tanzania as a Warehouse Supervisor. The successful candidate will oversee site operations activities, coordinate staff and teams, and manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) operations.

The role reports to the Warehouse Operations Manager and will be based at one of our customer sites in Tanzania.

Purpose of the Role

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for supervising warehouse operations and ensuring efficient service delivery while maintaining inventory records, managing stock levels, and supporting effective sales and distribution of goods. The role also ensures continuous improvement and compliance with warehouse management standards.

The position is responsible for ensuring the correct and efficient operation of the Sandvik Parts and Logistics function at the assigned site through effective logistics management, customer relationship management, receiving and issuing parts and consumables, inventory administration, and warehouse maintenance.

The Warehouse Supervisor will also perform stock planning responsibilities through proactive customer engagement, contributing to customer productivity, reliability, and profitability by delivering value-added parts and service solutions while maximizing business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise periodic cycle counts and report on all materials and supplies in warehouse facilities.
  • Ensure correct quantities of spare parts and tools are received into the warehouse.
  • Conduct audits to ensure all received goods are physically checked for damages, incorrect items, under-shipments, or over-shipments.
  • Ensure goods are accurately receipted into the system and assigned to the correct locations.
  • Ensure replenishable goods are stored in the correct bin locations.
  • Oversee receipt, storage, shipment, and reporting of materials according to established procedures.
  • Contribute to customer productivity, reliability, and profitability through timely delivery of products and parts.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders on inventory control improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise stock movements, including receiving, dispatching, and returns processes.
  • Improve customer experience and availability (fill rate) of standard spare parts assortment within the warehouse.
  • Coordinate inventory control improvement activities with the Warehouse Operations Manager.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality Management requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in logistics, procurement, or supply chain operations.
  • Knowledge and experience working with ERP systems such as Aurora.
  • Experience handling customer queries and complaints.
  • Previous exposure to the mining industry or related sectors will be an added advantage.
