JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT FOR VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

The Director of Sumbawanga Municipal Council hereby invites Tanzanian citizens with the required qualifications to apply for 09 volunteer job vacancies in Sumbawanga Municipality, which are for Grade III B Teachers to teach in English-medium schools and Driver Grade II positions as follows:

1.0 TEACHER GRADE III B - 02 POSITIONS

1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Prepare work schemes, lesson plans, lesson notes, and work plans and perform other assigned duties;
ii. Prepare and develop teaching and learning materials;
iii. Teach, assess, and keep records of students’ academic progress;
iv. Supervise and monitor student attendance at school and in class;
v. Guide students intellectually, physically, spiritually, and provide counseling and guidance;
vi. Provide professional advice on educational development;
vii. Supervise and ensure proper maintenance of school equipment and property;
viii. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School according to school responsibilities;
ix. Must be able to teach Mathematics and Science subjects.

1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANTS
Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) with a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination. Must hold a Diploma in Education or NTA Level 6 in Education from a government-recognized institution. Must have passed Mathematics, Science, and English subjects. Must be fluent in English language.

2.0 DRIVER GRADE II - 07 POSITIONS

2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Inspect the vehicle/tricycle before and after trips to ensure safety;
ii. Collect and dispose of waste in all assigned areas;
iii. Perform minor repairs of the vehicle/tricycle when necessary;
iv. Record and maintain all trip information in a logbook;
v. Clean the vehicle/tricycle;
vi. Perform any other duties assigned by the employer;
vii. Work with other staff or workers to identify individuals violating cleanliness regulations and report to the supervisor.

2.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANTS
Must have a Form Four certificate and a Class AZ driving license and experience in operating a three-wheeled vehicle (guta) for not less than one (1) year without causing an accident, together with training certificates that qualify them for the respective driving categories. Must have attended Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or any other government-recognized institution.

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLICANTS

i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 35 years except those already employed in government service;

ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must specify their disabilities in the employment application system for the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat;

iii. All applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with reliable contact address, phone numbers, email address, and names of two trustworthy referees;

iv. Applicants already employed in the public service who qualify for different cadres must route their application letters through their employers, and their employers must be satisfied accordingly;

v. Applicants must attach a detailed CV with reliable contact details and two referees, and must have an introduction letter from their local street government leader as well as a NIDA ID;

vi. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of education and professional certificates, including Form IV or Form VI certificates, and other relevant training certificates (Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Certificates, Form IV and VI certificates, Computer Certificate, and professional certificates from respective boards);

vii. Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statements of Results, and Form IV and Form VI result slips will NOT be accepted;

viii. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified by relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE);

ix. Retired public servants are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary;

x. Applicants who are already public servants in entry-level positions should not apply and must follow Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 of 30 November 2010;

xi. Providing false information or forged documents will lead to legal action;

xii. The deadline for submitting applications is 02/07/2026;

xiii. IMPORTANT: Remember to attach your signed application letter together with academic certificates. The application should be sent by post to the following address:
