FORKLIFT OPERATORS
(MKANGE - GRAPHITE PROCESSING PLANT) - 10 NEEDED
A Forklift Operator at a graphite mining site safely handles and transports raw materials, heavy-duty mining equipment, and processed graphite products. They operate industrial forklifts, ensure strict compliance with mining safety protocols, and maintain inventory logs across the extraction, processing, and shipping zones.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Material Transport: Safely move processed graphite flakes, reagents, oversized industrial bags (jumbo bags), and mining equipment between processing plants, storage yards, and loading docks.
· Loading and Unloading: Load heavy-duty materials onto haulage trucks, flatbeds, and shipping containers. Secure loads with straps or shrink wrap to prevent shifting on rough, uneven terrain.
· Equipment Inspection: Conduct OSHA/MSHA-compliant pre-shift inspections. Perform basic maintenance (e.g., checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and battery chargers) and report mechanical faults immediately.
· Inventory Management: Track material movements, weigh products, and update site logs using barcode scanners or site warehouse management systems.
· Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) mining regulations. Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times and navigate safely around heavy earth-moving machinery.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
· Certification: Valid, site-recognized forklift operator certification or license (e.g., OSHA or MSHA compliance, depending on the region).
· Experience: 1-3 years of experience operating industrial forklifts, preferably in heavy industrial, construction, or mining environments.
· Physical Fitness & Skills: Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination. Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding, dusty, and remote mining conditions.
· Teamwork: Strong communication skills to coordinate with dispatch, processing plant operators, and warehouse managers to ensure production timelines are met.
