Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is inviting qualified, experienced, and motivated candidates to apply for the following positions:

1. Engineer 2 - Software - Fleet Mgt System

Department: Open Pit Mining
Level: 2L / C5
Location: Geita Gold Mine, Tanzania
Employment Status: Full Time

Objective of the Role

To effectively support and manage Mining Fleet and Fatigue Management System software and hardware to ensure efficient data flow and facilitate safe and smooth mining operations. The role is also responsible for generating production and equipment reports, ensuring network coverage across mining active areas, and maintaining Fleet and Fatigue Management devices on production equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures during installation and maintenance of Fleet and Fatigue Management systems.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware kits including PTX field computers, GPS antennas, radio antennas, and SmartCap systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of field computers, GPS devices, network equipment, and SmartCap systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair software, hardware, network, mechanical, and electrical faults.
  • Perform quality inspections on tools and consumables to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to improve Fleet Management Systems.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Install and manage Dispatch software for production stakeholders.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network devices, access points, and communication hubs.
  • Install, configure, and maintain SmartCap and other fatigue management systems.
  • Conduct SmartCap training and refresher sessions for supervisors, operators, and charging room attendants.
  • Conduct network surveys, drive tests, optimization, and implement network topology.
  • Install and troubleshoot access points, including tower climbing where required.
  • Commission and decommission network equipment.
  • Develop engineering solutions for technical operations.
  • Provide technical support to Mine Operations and Dispatch teams.
  • Manage Fleet Management System tools, spare parts inventory, and workplace housekeeping.
  • Prepare monthly spare parts inventory reports.
  • Design standalone power solutions for remote sites.
  • Install, maintain, and monitor Minecare systems.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the FMS Superintendent.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Modular Mining Certificate or equivalent mining dispatch software certification.
  • Valid Tanzania Driving License (Class B, D, F, or G).
  • Registered with ERB.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in mining operations.
  • Experience managing Modular Mining Software or related mining dispatch systems.

Skills

  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Knowledge of computer applications, mining dispatch software, networking, database management, and programming.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail.

2. Paramedic - Health

Objective of the Role

To maintain a high-standard emergency response programme that supports safe, efficient, and internationally recognized emergency medical services at the mine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide pre-hospital emergency care.
  • Participate in mine rescue operations, emergency preparedness, and evacuation drills.
  • Inspect and maintain emergency medical equipment and first aid supplies.
  • Conduct patient assessments and provide emergency medical procedures.
  • Assist physicians in occupational health assessments and patient referrals.
  • Monitor and escort patients during medical evacuations.
  • Promote infection prevention and proper equipment maintenance.
  • Deliver health education and first aid training.
  • Support workplace health and safety initiatives.
  • Manage medical stock, pharmacy inventory, documentation, and reporting.
  • Maintain communication with supervisors, healthcare providers, and emergency response teams.
  • Prepare reports and perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Paramedicine, EMS, or a related field.
  • Certifications in BLS, ACLS, ITLS, Advanced Airway Management, and Defibrillator Operation.
  • Registered with MCT or TNMC with a valid practicing license.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical, emergency, or intensive care settings.
  • Experience in trauma response, medical emergencies, mass casualty incidents, ambulance operations, and patient transport.

Skills

  • Patient assessment, emergency care, CPR, ECG interpretation, IV/IO access, airway management, haemorrhage control, fracture management, and trauma care.
  • Ability to use ventilators, defibrillators, and other emergency equipment.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Computer literacy and ability to train employees in first aid.

Objective of the Role

To diagnose faults, perform repairs and servicing of underground heavy mining equipment, and train Tanzanian mechanics to improve technical competency and ensure effective skills transfer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote safety, health, and environmental compliance.
  • Coach and train junior mechanics through practical skills transfer.
  • Provide technical advice to supervisors and maintenance teams.
  • Prepare repair reports with photographic evidence.
  • Support maintenance planning and execution to maximize equipment availability.
  • Monitor maintenance quality through inspections.
  • Perform electrical diagnostics and underground fault finding.
  • Assist in developing work packages and maintenance procedures.
  • Coordinate with planners to optimize spare parts and materials.
  • Identify maintenance backlog items and future service requirements.
  • Ensure maintenance work complies with OEM standards.
  • Maintain training records and develop workforce competency.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Trade Test Certificate.
  • Trainer/Coach qualification (Certification or Diploma) is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience maintaining and repairing underground heavy mining equipment.

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of Sandvik and Caterpillar underground mining equipment.
  • Expertise in maintenance planning, diagnostics, inspections, major component replacement, and record keeping.
  • Leadership, coaching, communication, teamwork, analytical thinking, supervision, project management, and problem-solving skills.
