VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Kitonka Medical Hospital is a Regional Referral Hospital located at Ukonga Gongo la Mboto in Ilala Municipality, Dar es Salaam. The hospital is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered healthcare services to the community.
In order to strengthen our medical services, the hospital invites applications from qualified, competent, and motivated professionals to fill the following positions:
Positions
- Dialysis Nurses – 2 Posts
- Dialysis Doctor – 1 Post
- Physician – 1 Post
- Ophthalmologist – 1 Post
Dialysis Nurses (2 Posts)
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate hemodialysis machines according to established protocols.
- Assess patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond promptly to complications during dialysis.
- Administer prescribed medications and intravenous therapies.
- Maintain accurate patient records and dialysis treatment documentation.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control standards.
- Educate patients and their families on dialysis procedures, medication adherence, diet, and lifestyle modifications.
- Maintain dialysis equipment and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
- Collaborate with nephrologists and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement and continuing professional development activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Hold a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Be registered with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC).
- Possess a valid TNMC Practicing License.
- Have certification or formal training in Hemodialysis/Renal Nursing from a recognized institution (preferred).
- Have at least two (2) years of experience in a dialysis unit or renal care setting.
Dialysis Doctor (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess and manage patients with kidney diseases requiring dialysis treatment.
- Supervise and monitor hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis procedures.
- Manage dialysis-related complications and provide emergency care when required.
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans for patients with renal conditions.
- Ensure proper maintenance and safe use of dialysis equipment.
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control standards.
- Participate in hospital quality improvement activities and professional development.
Qualifications and Experience
- General Practitioner with a certificate in Dialysis Training will be an added advantage.
- Must be registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT) and possess a valid practicing license.
- Minimum of two (2) years working experience in dialysis or renal care services is preferred.
Physician (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions in adult patients.
- Conduct physical examinations and order diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans.
- Provide preventive healthcare and health education to patients.
- Maintain accurate patient medical records and treatment documentation.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control standards.
- Participate in hospital quality improvement activities and professional development.
Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of a Master's Degree (MMed) in Internal Medicine or a relevant medical specialty from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT) and possess a valid practicing license.
- Minimum of two (2) years working experience as a Physician Specialist in a hospital setting is required.
Ophthalmologist (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat eye diseases, injuries, and disorders.
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
- Perform medical and surgical procedures related to eye care within the scope of practice.
- Prescribe medications, corrective lenses, and treatment plans.
- Manage emergency ophthalmic cases.
- Educate patients on eye health, disease prevention, and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide integrated patient care.
- Participate in continuous medical education and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a recognized institution.
- Possess a Master's Degree (MMed) in Ophthalmology or an equivalent recognized specialist qualification.
- Be fully registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT).
- Hold a valid practicing license issued by the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
- Have at least two (2) years of relevant experience as an Ophthalmologist.
General Requirements for All Positions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
