GENERAL DENTIST – 4 POSITIONS
Duty Stations: Dodoma, Morogoro, Yombo and Zanzibar
POSITION SUMMARY
The General Dentist is responsible for establishing a Dental Department and providing dental/oral care services as part of an integrated Essential Package of services. The position will develop policies, procedures and standards to support the provision of quality health care service delivery by the OHC, coordinate care with other Doctors, and implement quality standards.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct review of patients and advise on appropriate treatment.
- Run clinics as per institutional policies and procedures.
- Monitor patients' progress as per the treatment protocols.
- Carry out emergency and non-emergency dental procedures.
- Counsel patients and relatives on oral hygiene instruction and demonstration techniques.
- Develop appropriate policies and procedures for patients' health care to formulate best practice guidelines and participate in ongoing clinical audits.
- Ensure timely availability of required support services in the process of treating patients, particularly when referred to by other clinics.
- Liaise with Dental Surgeons in other referral facilities on handling specialized cases in the provision of patients' health care.
- Actively participate in marketing the Dental Clinic, including school checking, screening and care.
- Provide oral hygiene education and training to Dental Nurse Assistants.
- Maintain a warm and friendly relationship with employees, associates, customers and suppliers.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor or his/her Designee.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience.
- Minimum Doctor of Dental Surgery or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Must have valid Full Registration as a Dental Practitioner from the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT).
- Must have a valid Practicing License from the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT).
