1. CREDIT ANALYST — 1 POSITION

Job Location: Head Office

Job Purpose

Ensure timely and quality assessment of proposals for credit facilities (new and/or existing) based on sound credit and financial principles.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional service to business units by assessing and evaluating credit facility requests based on sound credit policies and financial principles, with the aim of minimizing risk to the Bank.
  • Provide specialist credit assessment to determine whether credit proposals meet required criteria and whether counter-party credit risk falls within acceptable parameters.
  • Independently recommend appropriate credit proposals, including terms or conditions necessary to ring-fence exposure.
  • Review and evaluate information to gain a thorough understanding of business parameters that create profit/value and associated risks.
  • Defend own judgement in a manner that does not negatively affect the business relationship.
  • Utilize industry and market information to identify and understand contextual threats to existing and potential clients.
  • Build smooth working relationships with business counterparts to improve the quality of business proposals and turnaround time.
  • Share joint credit responsibility for recommended business.
  • Take or recommend remedial/appropriate actions for deteriorating exposure identified during the review process.
  • Observe SLAs without jeopardizing the quality of credit proposals.

Knowledge and Skills

2. MANAGER FINANCE & CONTROL — 1 POSITION

Job Location: Head Office

Job Purpose

To ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions, cost analysis, budgeting, budgetary control and efficiency and effectiveness in the payment process.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting operations including charts of accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost analysis and month/year-end processes.
  • Control financial resources to ensure all financial transactions, systems and procedures comply with local and international regulations, accounting principles and standards.
  • Advise management on financial matters and the impact of local and international financial reporting standards.
  • Work with Senior Managers on financial forecasting and stakeholder engagement to ensure accurate and timely delivery of the annual budget and Bank strategy.
  • Review and monitor General Ledgers/Cost Centre budgets and ensure monthly reports are shared with Cost Centre owners to discuss variances and instil a cost-conscious culture.
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices and staff claims according to agreed SLAs and ensure records are safely kept for easy reference and audit trail.
  • Ensure timely resolution of queries and complaints according to agreed TATs, including P2P, GL access and refunds/reversals-related queries.
  • Closely follow up on receivable accounts, including intercompany, government and other accounts, to clear outstanding items on time and avoid provision for loss.
  • Work closely with Finance Analysts and Senior Finance Analysts to ensure they understand finance processes/procedures and deliver according to departmental objectives and Bank strategy.
  • Monitor the Finance Risk Register to ensure controls are effective and operational.
  • Work closely with Senior Managers to ensure compliance with Finance processes, procedures and policies and ensure they are reviewed from time to time to align with new systems.
  • Support leadership and management around training, performance and coaching of staff to improve staff performance.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of financial control and management and application of Bank products, policies and procedures.

3. PRODUCT MANAGER ASSETS — 1 POSITION

Job Purpose

Responsible for asset product development, management and performance for Retail Banking.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and manage a compelling Retail Banking portfolio of Asset products.
  • Ensure proper communication of new products before public launch, including awareness and training to branches and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure new products are approved and aligned with controls and regulations, customer-centric principles and fair pricing.
  • Monitor, assess and report the new products framework and ensure alignment with Bank projections, targets and budget.
  • Analyze, manage and identify system faults affecting product performance.
  • Ensure approved product changes/enhancements are implemented within agreed timelines.
  • Monitor asset product quality to ensure it remains within the acceptable Bank threshold.

4. PRODUCT MANAGER; RETAIL LIABILITIES — 1 POSITION

Job Purpose

To support the development, performance management and continuous improvement of NMB's retail liabilities product suite and segment-based proposition.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the design, enhancement and lifecycle management of retail liabilities products, including savings accounts, current accounts, investment products and digital micro-wallets.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of segment-based propositions, ensuring products are tailored to distinct retail customer groups.
  • Monitor product performance against targets, analyzing uptake, balance, attrition and profitability and recommend corrective action where required.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for new products or enhancements.
  • Work with Marketing, Channels, Risk, Compliance and IT teams to plan and execute product enhancements, launches and campaigns.

5. SENIOR ANALYST REGULATORY REPORTING — 1 POSITION

Job Location: Head Office

Job Purpose

Responsible for the end-to-end coordination, preparation, review, validation and timely submission of accurate and compliant regulatory reports to the Bank of Tanzania (BOT) and other relevant internal and external stakeholders.

The role ensures that reporting activities are performed in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies and established reporting timelines, while proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen reporting controls, enhance data quality, improve process efficiency and support continuous improvement across the regulatory reporting function.

Main Responsibilities

Regulatory and Financial Reporting

  • Manage preparation and submission of BOT reports, including daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, in line with regulatory timelines and requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of Publication reports according to required timelines.
  • Interpret new regulatory reporting requirements and collaborate with Compliance to develop appropriate reporting templates.
  • Monitor changes in BOT regulations and IFRS standards, assess their impact and ensure timely implementation.
  • Keep abreast of industry, regulatory and accounting developments.
  • Apply sound Finance and accounting concepts and principles to ensure accurate Regulatory Reporting filings.
  • Review new regulatory reporting requirements and IFRS updates to determine their impact on Regulatory Report filings.
  • Continually monitor developments in Bank of Tanzania Reporting Regulations and ensure implementation and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Lead/participate in regulatory examinations, internal audits and external audits.

Automation & Process Improvement

  • Drive full automation of regulatory reports through collaboration with Technology and BI teams.
  • Lead initiatives to improve data quality, strengthen controls and enhance reporting accuracy.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process efficiencies across reporting functions.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Provide regulatory reports to internal departments in agreed formats and timelines.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with Treasury, Credit, Operations, Risk, Finance Business Partners and Compliance teams.
  • Participate in regulatory examinations, internal audits and external audits, ensuring professional engagement with auditors and regulators.

Financial Analysis & Controls

  • Review and analyze trial balances to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.

6. SPECIALIST; MIS & ESS MONITORING — 1 POSITION

Job Purpose

The role is responsible for ensuring the integrity, availability and effective utilization of business data, proactively identifying performance gaps, monitoring Employee Self Service (ESS) productivity and recommending actionable interventions that enhance business performance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, enhancement and management of the Personal Banking Management Information Systems (MIS) framework to provide timely, accurate and actionable Management Information.
  • Serve as the departmental custodian of MIS, ensuring data integrity, consistency and accuracy across all Personal Banking business units.
  • Manage end-to-end monitoring of the ESS platform, tracking application volumes, turnaround times, conversion rates, user productivity, system utilization and operational bottlenecks.
  • Analyze ESS performance trends and recommend initiatives to improve customer experience, operational efficiency, sales productivity and portfolio growth.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and performance scorecards for the Head of Personal Banking, Senior Managers, Relationship Managers and other stakeholders.
  • Produce business performance reports.
  • Conduct advanced business analytics to identify growth opportunities, emerging risks, business trends and revenue optimization opportunities.
  • Monitor customer retention, portfolio migration, product utilization and customer behavior to recommend proactive retention and growth strategies.
  • Develop predictive analysis and performance models to support business planning, campaign effectiveness and sales forecasting.
