HESLB ANNOUNCES LOANS AND GRANTS FOR 165,775 STUDENTS FOR THE 2026/2027 ACADEMIC YEAR

The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) has announced the first batch of loan and grant allocations for the 2026/2027 academic year, with a total of 165,775 first-year students allocated loans and grants worth TZS 535.7 billion.

The announcement was made on Saturday, October 10, 2026, by the Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB), indicating that the students will benefit from different categories of higher education funding as follows:

1. Undergraduate Degree Students: 74,769

A total of 74,769 undergraduate degree students have been allocated loans worth approximately TZS 246.88 billion to help cover their higher education expenses for the 2026/2027 academic year.

2. Diploma Students: 8,538

A total of 8,538 diploma students have been allocated loans worth approximately TZS 22.9 billion to support their educational needs.

3. Samia Scholarship Beneficiaries: 873

In addition, 873 beneficiaries of the Samia Scholarship have been allocated grants worth approximately TZS 4.5 billion.

The Samia Scholarship is a funding programme designed to support eligible students who meet the established criteria, enabling them to continue with their studies.

HESLB to Announce Additional Allocation Batches

According to the announcement, the Board will continue issuing additional batches of loan and grant allocations as it receives admission confirmations for first-year students from higher education institutions.

This process aims to ensure that eligible students receive information about their loan and grant allocations as the process progresses.

HESLB has also reminded loan and grant applicants to continue checking their application information through their SIPA accounts as the allocation process continues.

How to Check Loan Allocation Information Through SIPA

Students who submitted loan applications are advised to log in to their SIPA accounts to check information regarding their applications and loan allocations.
