PUBLIC NOTICE ON EXTENSION OF ADMISSION PERIOD FOR BACHELOR DEGREE PROGRAMMES WITH AVAILABLE VACANCIES FOR THE 2026/2027 ACADEMIC YEAR
1.0 INTRODUCTION
The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) wishes to inform the public that admission for both rounds at Bachelor Degree level in Higher Education Institutions in the country for the 2026/2027 academic year has been completed. The names of applicants admitted in the Second Round are being announced by the respective universities today, 03 October, 2026.
2.0 APPLICANTS ADMITTED TO MORE THAN ONE UNIVERSITY
Applicants who have been admitted to more than one university in the Second Round, as well as those who were unable to confirm their admission in the First Round, are required to confirm their admission at one of the universities from 03 to 19 October, 2026.
The confirmation is done using a special secret number sent via SMS to the telephone numbers or email addresses used by the applicants when applying for admission. Those who do not receive the message on time are advised to log into the admission systems of the universities where they have been admitted and request to be sent an SMS containing the special secret number in order to confirm their admission at the respective university.
Furthermore, admission confirmation should be done through the account that the applicant used when applying for admission. For ease of reference, the list of applicants admitted to more than one university is available on the TCU website (www.tcu.go.tz).
3.0 OPENING OF THE THIRD ROUND OF ADMISSION FOR 2026/2027
Following the completion of the first and second rounds of admission, the Commission has received requests to extend the period for submitting admission applications from some applicants who were unsuccessful in obtaining admission in the previous rounds. In addition, some universities that still have available vacancies have requested additional time to continue with admissions.
Therefore, the Commission has extended the admission period by opening the Third and Final Round of admission, which will commence today, 03 October, and end on 09 October, 2026.
The Commission advises applicants who were unable to submit admission applications or who were unable to secure admission in the Second Round due to various reasons to make good use of this opportunity by submitting their admission applications to their preferred universities.
Furthermore, the Commission directs Higher Education Institutions in the country to continue advertising programmes that still have available vacancies. Applicants and universities are required to follow the Third Round admission procedures as outlined in the table below.

4.0 CALL TO ADMISSION APPLICANTS
Applicants for Bachelor Degree programmes are reminded that all matters concerning admission or confirmation at one university should be submitted directly to the respective universities.
For applicants who experience challenges in confirming their admission, all universities have been directed to receive their concerns and seek prompt solutions in accordance with the established guidelines and procedures.
