JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Executive Director of Shinyanga District Council announces job vacancies to Tanzanians who possess the qualifications to apply for two (02) positions in this Council, following approval from the President's Office, Public Service Management, and Good Governance, with the following breakdown:

1.1 OFFICE SECRETARY/ASSISTANT GRADE II - 2 VACANCIES

1.1.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To type normal and confidential letters, reports, and documents.

  • To receive visitors, inquire about their issues, and direct them to where they can be assisted.

  • To maintain records of events, appointments, meeting dates, the supervisor's travel, and other work schedules.

  • To retrieve necessary files and documents for the execution of work duties.

  • To receive files and distribute them to officers in the relevant Division/Unit/Section.

  • To collect, store, and return files and documents to the relevant places.

  • To prepare minutes and make arrangements for various meetings.

  • To prepare a list of office equipment requirements.

1.1.2 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS

  • The applicant must have passed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) with a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or an NTA Level 6 Secretarial Certificate.

  • Furthermore, they must have passed Shorthand in Kiswahili and English at 100 words per minute.

  • Must have completed office computer programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher from any government-recognized institution.

1.1.3 SALARY SCALE

  • TGS C

GENERAL CONDITIONS

  • All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens and be aged between 18 and not exceeding 45 years.

  • Applicants must submit a detailed Curriculum Vitae (Detailed CV) containing a reliable address and phone numbers, along with the names of three (3) reliable referees.

  • Applicants must attach copies of Form Four or Six Certificates, Professional Certificates, and a Birth Certificate.

  • Applicants who submit "Result Slip," "Statement of Results," "Provisional Results," or "Transcripts" WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

  • For applicants who studied outside the country, Form Four or Six Education must include verification from the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA).

  • For applicants who studied at Colleges/Universities outside the country, they must submit verification from the Tanzania Universities Commission (TCU).

  • The application letter signed by the applicant can be written in either English or Swahili.

  • Applicants with special needs/disability are required to specify this in their application.

  • Applicants who submit forged information will face legal action in accordance with the country's laws.

  • Applicants who have been retired from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have a permit from the Chief Secretary.

  • Candidates whose names differ across their documents must submit a registered Deed Poll from the Ministry of Lands for the name change.

  • The deadline for submitting applications is 20/11/2025 at 6:00 PM.
