JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Ubungo Municipal Director announces job vacancies to Tanzanians who possess the qualifications to apply for thirty-two (32) positions in this Council. This follows approval from the President's Office, Public Service Management, and Good Governance, with the following breakdown:

1.0 DRIVER GRADE II - 17 VACANCIES

1.1.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To inspect the vehicle before and after the trip to determine the safety condition of the vehicle.

  • To transport employees to various areas for official work travel.

  • To carry out minor vehicle repairs.

  • To collect and distribute various documents.

  • To fill and maintain records of all journeys in the log book.

  • To clean the vehicle.

  • To perform other duties as directed by his/her Supervisor.

  • Including other duties assigned by your Employer.

1.1.2 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be employed with a Form Four Certificate.

  • Must have a Class E or C driving license, which has been in use for a period of not less than one (1) year without causing an accident.

  • Must have training certificates that qualified them for the respective license classes.

  • Must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or another government-recognized institution.

1.1.3 SALARY SCALE

  • TGS B

2.0 OFFICE SECRETARY/ASSISTANT GRADE II - 9 VACANCIES

2.1.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To type normal and confidential letters, reports, and documents.

  • To receive visitors, inquire about their issues, and direct them to where they can be assisted.

  • To maintain records of events, appointments, meeting dates, the supervisor's travel, and other work schedules.

  • To retrieve necessary files and documents for the execution of work duties.

  • To receive and distribute files to officers in the relevant Department/Unit/Section.

  • To collect, store, and return files and documents to the relevant places.

  • To prepare minutes and make arrangements for various meetings.

  • To prepare a list of office equipment requirements.

2.1.2 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be employed as graduates of Form Four or Form Six with a Diploma in Secretarial Studies (Uhazili) or an NTA Level 6 Secretarial Certificate.

  • Furthermore, they must have passed Shorthand in Kiswahili and English at 100 words per minute.

  • Must have completed office computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher from any government-recognized institution.

2.1.3 SALARY SCALE

  • TGS C

3.0 RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II - 6 VACANCIES

3.1.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To list incoming mail/letters in the Registry using the incoming correspondence register.

  • To list outgoing mail/letters outside the institution using the outgoing correspondence register.

  • To distribute files to action officers.

  • To receive files from action officers.

  • To receive files that are returned to the Registry from the action officers.

  • To return files to the racks/filing cabinets or other storage locations.

  • To track the circulation of files within the Institution (file tracking).

3.1.2 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be employed with a Diploma (NTA level 6) in Records Management (Utunzaji wa Kumbukumbu).

  • The qualification must be from government-recognized institutions.

  • Must have computer literacy skills.

3.1.3 SALARY SCALE

  • TGS C

GENERAL CONDITIONS

  • All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens, aged 18 to not exceeding 45 years.

  • Applicants must attach a Birth Certificate.

  • Applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (Detailed C.V) containing a reliable address, reliable phone numbers, and names of reliable referees.

  • All applicants must upload copies of their professional certificates, Form Four and Six certificates (for those who reached that level), and certificates of various completed training courses, considering the qualifications for the respective job, on the Ajira Portal.

  • Testimonials, "Provision Results," "Statement of Results," or Form Four and Six result slips are NOT ACCEPTABLE.

  • Job applicants for the Driver Grade II cadre with a Class E or C license must ATTACH driving training certificates that qualified them for the respective classes.

  • All applicants must upload two recent "Passport Size" photos on the Ajira Portal page.

  • Applicants who studied outside the country must ensure their certificates are verified and confirmed by the relevant authorities, namely TCU, NECTA, and NACTE.

  • Applicants who have been retired from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have a permit from the Chief Secretary.

  • Applicants with different names across academic, birth, and NIDA certificates must attach a DEED POLL.

  • Applicants with spelling differences in academic, birth, and NIDA certificates must attach a Name Affidavit (Hati ya kiapo cha majina).

  • Job applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions within the Public Service should not apply.

  • Submission of forged information and qualifications will lead to legal action against the individuals involved.

  • The deadline for submitting applications is November 24, 2025.

  • Applications submitted outside the procedure outlined in this advertisement WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
