JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Director of Ileje District Council invites qualified and interested Tanzanians to apply for the (19) job vacancies listed below to work in the Ileje District Council, after receiving permission from the Chief Secretary - President's Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance as per the following breakdown;
1.0 DRIVER GRADE II – 4 POSITIONS
1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To inspect the vehicle before and after trips to determine the vehicle's safety condition;
ii. To transport staff to various locations on official trips;
iii. To perform minor vehicle repairs;
iv. To collect and distribute various documents;
v. To fill out and maintain records of all trips in the log book; and
vi. To clean the vehicle.
1.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
To be employed, the applicant must have a Form Four (Form IV) certificate and a Class E or C driving license for which they have worked for at least one year (1) without causing an accident, along with training certificates that qualified them to obtain the respective classes. They must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by a VETA College or another Government-recognized College.

According to Government Salary Scales - TGS B
2.0 OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY GRADE II - 5 POSITIONS
2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Typing letters, reports, and routine and confidential documents;
ii. Receiving guests, listening to their problems, and directing them to where they can be assisted;
iii. Maintaining records of the occurrence book, appointments, meeting dates, trips of his/her superior, and other work schedules;
iv. Searching for files and documents required in the performance of work duties;
v. Receiving files and distributing them to officers in the relevant Department/Unit/Section;
vi. Collecting, storing, and returning files and documents to the relevant sections;
vii. Arranging extracts and making preparations for various meetings; and
viii. Preparing a list of office equipment requirements.
2.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
To be employed, the applicant must have Form Four (Form IV) or Form Six (Form VI) education and must have a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or an NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies. Furthermore, they must have passed a Shorthand subject in Kiswahili and English at 100 words per minute and acquired office computer programs such as: Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher from any Government-recognized college.
2.1.2 SALARY LEVEL
According to Government Salary Scales - TGS C
3.0 RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II - 10 POSITIONS
3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Listing incoming letters in the registry (incoming correspondence register);
ii. Listing outgoing letters from the Institution in the register (outgoing correspondence register);
iii. Distributing files to action officers (action officers);
iv. Receiving files returning to the registry from action officers;
v. Searching for records/documents/files required by action officers;
vi. Controlling the receipt, registration of records/documents;
vii. Returning files to the file racks/filing cabinets (Racks/Filling cabinets) or other storage places; and
viii. Tracking the movement of files within and outside the Institution (File Tracking).
3.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Must have completed Form Four (Form IV) or Form Six (Form VI) Education. Must have completed a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in the field of Records Management from Government-recognized colleges, with computer skills.
3.1.2 SALARY LEVEL
According to Government Salary Scales - TGS C.
GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLICANTS
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian Citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must specify the type of disability they have in the job application system for information to the Secretariat of Employment in the Public Service.
iii. All applicants must attach a certified copy of their birth certificate verified by an Advocate/Lawyer.
iv. Applicants must attach a detailed personal description (Detailed CV) with a reliable address and phone numbers along with the names of three reliable referees (Referees).
v. All applications must be accompanied by professional certificates, details, certified copies of certificates by an Advocate/Lawyer which are Form Four, Form Six certificates for those who reached that level and various training completion certificates considering the job qualifications.
vi. Job applicants for the Driver Grade II cadre with a Class E or C license must ATTACH their driving training certificates which qualified them to obtain the respective classes.
vii. “Testimonials”, “Provisional Results”, “Statement of results”, Form Four and Form Six Results Slips WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
viii. Applicants who studied outside the country must ensure their certificates have been validated by the relevant Authorities (TCU, NECTA and NACTE).
ix. Applicants who have retired from the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
x. Job applicants who are already employed in intern positions within the Public Service should not apply and are required to adhere to the instructions in Letter No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010.
xi. Submission of false information and qualifications will lead to legal action against the concerned individuals.
xii. The deadline for receiving application letters is 11 December, 2025.
