- PROJECT MANAGER – SALT PROJECT
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and manage projects related to salt harvesting, processing, packaging, storage, and logistics.
• Coordinate farm operations (brine concentration, pond management, harvesting schedules) with plant processing activities.
• Manage contractors, suppliers, and equipment vendors.
• Oversee construction, expansion, or upgrades of salt pans, processing lines, and utilities.
• Control project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and food-grade regulations.
• Liaise with government authorities, inspectors, and certification bodies.
• Implement operational efficiency and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Prepare progress reports for senior management.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Civil) or Project Management.
• Professional certification preferred (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
• Five (5) to ten (10) years’ experience in industrial processing plants, mining, chemicals, food processing, or salt production.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
• Experience in coastal or agricultural projects; exposure to renewable energy (solar evaporation) is an added advantage.
Duty Station: Lindi
- LABORATORY TECHNICIAN / QUALITY CONTROL OFFICER
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct routine chemical and physical tests on brine, raw salt, and finished salt.
• Test for purity (NaCl %), moisture, insoluble matter, and contaminants.
• Monitor iodization levels (where iodized salt is produced).
• Maintain quality records, test reports, and traceability logs.
• Ensure compliance with food-grade and industrial salt standards.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Support audits, inspections, and certifications.
• Report deviations and recommend corrective actions.
Minimum Requirements:
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, or Laboratory Technology.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 or food safety standards.
• Two (2) to five (5) years’ experience in industrial or food-processing laboratories (salt, chemicals, mining, or food industries).
Duty Station: Lindi
- ACCOUNTANT (PROJECTS)
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial record keeping, including recording transactions, managing ledgers, and maintaining financial data.
• Preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and financial health reports.
• Reconciliation of bank statements and other accounts.
• Tax computation, preparation of returns, and ensuring compliance with tax laws.
• Conducting internal audits and examination of financial documents.
• Monitoring cash flow and managing income and expenditure.
• Financial analysis to support management decision-making.
• Cost management and recommending strategies to improve profitability.
• Financial planning, including risk analysis and strategic planning.
• Managing accounts payable and receivable.
• Payroll processing and related tasks.
• Use of accounting software such as QuickBooks and SAP, including implementation of new systems where necessary.
• Ensuring compliance with financial policies and standards.
• Maintaining accuracy and confidentiality of financial information.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA will be an added advantage.
• At least one (1) year of experience in accounting, finance, or related roles.
Duty Station: Songea and Dar es Salaam
