EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES ON CONTRACT TERMS
Bugando Medical Centre is a tertiary referral, consultant, and teaching Hospital in the Lake and Western zones of the United Republic of Tanzania. It is located along the shores of Lake Victoria in the City of Mwanza. It has more than 1000 bed capacity with 2000 employees. It is a referral centre for tertiary specialist care for eight regions, namely: - Mwanza, Geita, Simiyu, Mara, Kagera, Shinyanga, Tabora and Kigoma. It serves a catchment's population of over 14 million people.
ICT OFFICER II (PROGRAMMER) (2- Posts)
Qualifications
Holder of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in one of the following fields; Computer Science, Computer Engineering or in any related field from a reputable institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
i. To support and prepare standards for software, developments methods and security measures.
ii. To assist to prepare in house computer training for users on mostly used software.
iii. To design, develop, and maintain both backend and frontend components.
iv. To implement and manage API integrations with internal systems and external platforms.
v. To develop secure, scalable server-side logic using CodeIgniter or Laravel framework.
vi. To create clean, responsive, and user-friendly frontend interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks.
vii. To configure and support VPN technologies (e.g., OpenVPN, IPSec) for secure remote connections to banking systems and vendor support.
viii. To optimize database performance and manage data securely using MySQL/PostgreSQL.
ix. To conduct system testing, debugging, patching, and deployment.
x. To maintain strict security protocols, encryption, and authentication across all connections.
xi. To document all system features, processes, and changes clearly.
xii. To provide technical support, training, and troubleshooting assistance to end-users.
xiii. To collaborate with ICT, finance teams, and vendors to coordinate updates and improvements.
xiv. To perform any other related duty assigned by the Supervisor.
Salary Scale: PGSS 7
