JOB VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT
The Director of Mlimba District Council announces to Tanzanians who possess the required qualifications to apply for seven (7) job positions in this Council after obtaining permission from the as detailed below:
1.0 OFFICE SECRETARY II – 02 POSITIONS
1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Typing letters, reports and ordinary and confidential documents;
ii. Receiving visitors, inquiring about their problems and directing them to where they can be assisted;
iii. Keeping records of events, appointments, visitors, meeting dates, superior’s travel and other work schedules;
iv. Searching for files and documents required in the implementation of work duties;
v. Receiving files and distributing them to Officers in the respective Division/Section/Unit;
vi. Collecting, keeping and returning files and documents to relevant sections;
vii. Arranging minutes and preparing for various meetings;
viii. Preparing a list of office supply requirements.
1.2 QUALIFICATIONS
Graduates of Form Four or Form Six with a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies.
Applicants must have passed Kiswahili and English typing at 100 words per minute and received training in office computer programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail and Publisher from a Government-recognized college.

2.0 RECORDS ASSISTANT II – 02 POSITIONS
2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Listing incoming letters in the incoming correspondence register;
ii. Listing outgoing letters in the outgoing correspondence register;
iii. Distributing files to Action Officers;
iv. Receiving files returned to records from Action Officers;
v. Searching for records, documents and files required by Action Officers;
vi. Returning files to racks, filing cabinets or other storage places;
vii. Monitoring file movement within the Institution;
viii. Performing other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
2.2 QUALIFICATIONS
Graduates of Form Four or Form Six with a Diploma or NTA Level 6 in Records Management from a Government-recognized college, with computer skills.

3.0 DRIVER II – 03 POSITIONS
3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Inspecting the vehicle before and after trips to determine safety condition;
ii. Transporting employees to various places on official duties;
iii. Performing minor vehicle repairs;
iv. Distributing various documents when required;
v. Filling and maintaining trip information in the logbook;
vi. Cleaning the vehicle;
vii. Performing other duties as assigned by the employer.
3.2 QUALIFICATIONS
Holders of Form Four Certificate with Class E or C Driving License for vehicles operated for a period of not less than one (1) year without causing accidents, and possessing driving training certificates for the respective classes.
Applicants must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by College or any other Government-recognized institution.
3.3 SALARY SCALE

4.0 GENERAL TERMS
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens and not exceeding 45 years of age;
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must specify their disability in the application system for information purposes;
iii. All applicants must attach a birth certificate certified by an Attorney/Advocate;
iv. Applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (C.V.) with address, reliable phone numbers and names of three reliable referees;
v. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of academic certificates including:
- Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Certificates;
- Form IV and Form VI examination certificates;
- Computer certificates;
- Professional certificates from respective boards;
vi. Testimonials, provisional results, statements of results and Form IV or Form VI results slips will not be accepted;
vii. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified by relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA and NACTE);
viii. Applicants for Driver II position with Class E or C License must attach driving training certificates;
ix. Retirees from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary;
x. Applicants already employed in entry-level Public Service positions should not apply and must adhere to Circular Ref. No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November 2010;
xi. Submission of false information or qualifications will result in legal action;
xii. All applications must be submitted through the electronic Recruitment Portal at https://portal.ajira.go.tz/;
xiii. The deadline for submitting applications is 01 March 2026;
xiv. Applications submitted outside the stated procedures will not be considered.
