VOLUNTEER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The Medical Officer In-Charge of Bukoba Regional Referral Hospital invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for one-year volunteer contract positions in the following vacancies:
1. HEALTH RECORDS ASSISTANT – 3 POSTS
Qualifications
- Holder of Form IV or Form VI Certificate.
- Certificate or Diploma in Health Records Management from a Government-recognized institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Register patients and record them in reception registers.
- Open and maintain patients' medical files.
- Retrieve patients' files and health records.
- Collect, compile, process, and interpret health information.
- Prepare hospital health data and enter it into the Health Information System.
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of patients' statistics.
- Prepare all health reports required by the Hospital, Ministry, and other relevant authorities as directed by the Medical Officer In-Charge.
- Perform other official duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Carry out any other duties related to the applicant's qualifications, experience, and expertise.
2. ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER II – 7 POSTS
Qualifications
- Holder of Form IV or Form VI Certificate.
- Diploma in Nursing from a Government-recognized institution.
- Registered with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide nursing services to patients.
- Collect and maintain important health statistics.
- Implement nursing duties according to professional standards.
- Educate patients and the community on disease prevention.
- Provide maternal and child health services.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor according to qualifications, experience, and expertise.
3. CIVIL ENGINEER – 1 POST
Qualifications
- Holder of Form IV or Form VI Certificate.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a Government-recognized institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct surveys for buildings, infrastructure, and other assigned projects.
- Supervise construction and renovation projects implemented by contractors.
- Supervise artisans carrying out maintenance work on hospital buildings.
- Prepare cost estimates for various construction projects.
- Conduct engineering inspections of hospital buildings.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor according to qualifications, experience, and expertise.
4. DRIVER II – 3 POSTS
Qualifications
- Holder of Form IV or Form VI Certificate.
- Valid Class E or C Driving Licence with at least one year of accident-free driving experience.
- Basic Driving Certificate from VETA or another Government-recognized institution.
- Applicants with Grade II Trade Test Certificate will be given priority.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect the vehicle before and after every trip to ensure it is safe.
- Transport staff to different work destinations.
- Carry out minor vehicle maintenance.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
- Record all trips in the vehicle logbook.
- Ensure the safety and proper use of the vehicle.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor according to qualifications, experience, and expertise.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- The appointment is on a one-year volunteer contract.
- Upon expiry of the contract, employees who demonstrate satisfactory performance may have their contracts renewed.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must:
- Be Tanzanian citizens with valid academic certificates.
- Have two guarantors who are public servants.
- Be ready to volunteer in the assigned work station.
- Have no criminal or disciplinary conviction.
- Possess good conduct and acceptable moral character within the community.
- Not have been dismissed from any public institution after completing studies.
