Position: Operations Manager
Royal Mabati is seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to lead and coordinate all operational functions of the business. This role is responsible for ensuring strategic execution, process compliance, system utilization, and team performance. The Operations Manager will drive seamless execution across departments while championing cost-efficiency, quality, safety, and stakeholder satisfaction.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in operations within manufacturing or logistics.
- Proven leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in ERP/CRM systems, data analytics, and project management.
- Certifications in Six Sigma, Kaizen, or DMAIC are required; Lean Management certification is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, communication, and change management skills.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the Managing Director by aligning operational plans with company-wide transformation goals and overseeing frontline management.
- Lead the implementation of cross-functional projects under the Strategic Execution & Transformation framework, ensuring milestones, timelines, and deliverables are tracked across all business units.
- Establish formal escalation procedures for stalled actions and unresolved cross-departmental issues.
- Submit weekly and monthly operational summary reports to the Managing Director and provide input for board-level strategic updates.
- Lead Weekly Operations Review (WOR) Heads of Department meetings and ensure Daily Operations Review (DOR) cascading meetings are conducted, with minutes recorded, filed, and dashboards tracking task completion.
- Provide leadership in marketing and brand management by successfully executing and managing the marketing budget, maximizing return on investment (ROI), and maintaining high budget accountability.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the departmental sales team to achieve individual and collective sales goals while fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Oversee daily and weekly production planning in line with Production Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), coordinating shift schedules, material readiness, and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure full compliance with KEBS and ISO quality standards by implementing quality protocols and managing non-conformance reporting in accordance with Production SOPs.
- Lead monthly performance reviews and quarterly staff appraisals in line with the HR Manual and Commission & KPI SOP.
- Oversee dispatch, routing, and delivery operations, including routing plans, fuel calculations, and delivery sequencing, in accordance with Routing and Dispatch SOPs.
- Lead operational responses under the Crisis Management Policy, ensuring all incidents are assessed, escalated, documented, and resolved.
