SCHOLARSHIPS TENABLE IN THE ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2026/2027
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of the United Republic of Tanzania invites qualified Tanzanian candidates to apply for scholarships offered by the Ministry of Higher Education of Egypt under the EGY-AID Initiative and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year. The scholarships are available for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
General Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a citizen of their respective country.
- Be a Muslim.
- Not be enrolled in another scholarship in or outside Egypt.
- Be physically fit and free from contagious diseases, supported by an approved medical certificate.
- Ensure all application documents are officially certified and bear the required Republic and Embassy seals.
- Submit documents in Arabic, English, or French, or provide certified translations into one of these languages.
- Ensure the name on all submitted documents is identical for verification purposes.
Note:
- Al-Azhar grant-funded studies are conducted in Arabic. Students choosing English or French instruction will be responsible for any additional costs.
- Students are responsible for any costs resulting from travel date changes, cancellations, or return travel if the scholarship is terminated.
Required Documents
Applicants should prepare the following:
- Certified Certificate of Secondary Education or equivalent.
- Certified Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education or equivalent.
- Original university certificates and transcripts (for postgraduate applicants).
- Certified birth certificate.
- Copy of a valid passport.
- Six recent passport-size photographs with the applicant's name written on the back.
- Medical certificate approved by the Ministry of Health confirming freedom from infectious diseases (HIV, Hepatitis, and Tuberculosis), certified by the Egyptian Embassy.
- Statement confirming that the applicant's high school qualification permits university admission in the country where it was obtained, certified by the Egyptian Embassy.
Note: All documents must be submitted in Arabic.
Scholarship Coverage
The scholarship provides:
- Full tuition fees.
- Monthly stipend.
- Additional allowance for books and thesis printing (Master's and PhD students).
- Return air ticket upon successful completion of studies.
- Medical treatment at university and government hospitals.
