JOB PURPOSE
The key purpose of the Brewing Lab Specialist role is to manage and coordinate brewing quality control and ensure that Quality Assurance (QA) analysis is conducted in compliance with AB InBev standards and specifications, transforming information into recognised laboratory standards and procedures.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Implement safety, health and environmental procedures and comply with relevant legislation.

Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping and workplace organisation.

Develop employees and support their technical and professional growth.

Ensure a positive employee relations climate within the team.

Manage and apply appropriate personnel practices.

Ensure that laboratory standards are established, communicated and well understood.

Ensure employees are trained according to specified laboratory methods and procedures.

Verify the execution of procedures to ensure compliance with established standards.

Ensure laboratory equipment is properly calibrated and functioning according to the required standards.

Identify and highlight deviations to the Quality Manager and Brewing Manager for appropriate corrective action.

Stop the relevant process where necessary when quality or process deviations require immediate intervention.

Ensure compliance with value chain requirements.

Manage Quality Control (QC) administration and documentation.

Optimise the availability and utilisation of measuring equipment.

Maintain and control laboratory consumable stock levels.

Optimise the quality control management system.

Facilitate effective team dynamics and collaboration.

Maintain an effective performance management system.

Communicate effectively with laboratory, brewing, production and other relevant teams.

Improve quality compliance and quality management at the site while reducing reputational risks.

Contribute to achieving VPO targets and Quality KPI and PI targets for the site.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
Applicants should have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in one of the following fields:
- Chemistry
- Food Science and Technology
- Biochemistry
- Microbiology
- An equivalent relevant qualification
Experience
- 2–3 years of experience in laboratory, brewing or packaging operations.
Training
- Minimum of 3–6 months of on-the-job training.
