Geita Gold Mining Limited (GGML) is inviting applications from suitably qualified, experienced and motivated candidates for the following full-time positions at Geita Gold Mine, Tanzania.

1. SUPERVISOR – TFM

Department: Asset Management & Engineering
Location: Geita Gold Mine, Tanzania
Employment Status: Full Time

Objective of the Role:

  • Plan, coordinate and supervise the safe, efficient and reliable daily distribution of fuel to mining and supporting equipment across the mine site.
  • Support mine production through continuous fuel truck availability, accurate fuel distribution records, reduced fuel losses, prevention of contamination and theft, and full compliance with Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate daily fuel distribution to meet mine production requirements.
  • Supervise fuel bowser operators across shifts and allocate work and fuelling routes.
  • Coordinate emergency refuelling requirements with Mining and Maintenance departments.
  • Ensure fuel transactions are accurately captured in the fuel management system and manual records.
  • Monitor fuel-management equipment and meter calibration.
  • Coordinate maintenance of fuel bowsers, flow meters and dispensing equipment.
  • Lead and develop the fuel distribution team through briefings, coaching and training support.
  • Enforce HSSE policies and safe-work procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure PPE compliance and prevent spills and contamination.
  • Support incident investigations and maintain housekeeping in fuel distribution areas.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Certificate of Secondary Education or above.
  • Valid Tanzanian driving licence with Heavy Duty Code E category.
  • Certificate from the college where the Heavy Duty Code E category was obtained.
  • Relevant fuel-management or petroleum-handling training.
  • Training in occupational health and safety, fire safety and spill response.
  • Defensive Driving or Master-drive is an added advantage.
  • No criminal record.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years’ experience driving heavy-duty and light vehicles with manual gear transfer systems, especially in the mining industry.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in fuel distribution in a mining/industrial environment.
  • Previous supervisory experience in the mining industry.
  • Experience with fuel management systems.
  • Mining experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience driving Benz trucks, especially Actros 3340, is an added advantage.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong leadership and supervision skills.
  • Mine-site safety awareness.
  • Knowledge of fuel storage and dispensing.

2. GRADUATE ENGINEER – UG MINE PLANNING

Department: Technical Service
Level: 1M/C1
Location: Geita Gold Mine, Tanzania
Employment Status: Full Time

Objective of the Role: This position provides industry experience through a structured 3-year development programme. The successful candidate will gain technical exposure through rotations across various tasks and teams, progressively increasing work complexity as competence is demonstrated, while receiving guidance from supervisors and mentors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to quality discipline service delivery and interpretation of discipline information.
  • Participate actively in training programmes covering mining processes, safety protocols and relevant regulations.
  • Collect and analyse data related to mining operations, production metrics, ore quality and equipment performance.
  • Contribute to discipline-specific services within required deadlines and targets.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior engineers and management.
  • Participate in fieldwork and mine-site visits.
  • Support senior engineers in mine planning, including layout design, stope planning and scheduling.
  • Conduct inspections to understand safety protocols and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist with geotechnical assessments to understand ground stability and potential hazards.
  • Gain hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of mining equipment.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams on equipment reliability and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, project plans and progress updates.
  • Contribute to organisational capability and support the Life of Mine (LOM) Plan.
  • Prepare accurate and timely process-performance data and reports.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment and compliance with SHE&C plans and management systems.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with colleagues, business partners and other stakeholders.
  • Stop unsafe work and report it to the supervisor or safety personnel.

Education & Qualification:

  • Degree in Mining Engineering or relevant discipline.

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience acquired during practical training.
  • Experience with MS Office software.

3. ENGINEER 3 – UG MINE PLANNING

Objective of the Role: To develop options for the optimal development of the Gold Mine and produce schedules, production forecasts and budgets for the underground mine in line with Company Vision and Values.

The role supports operational execution through short-, medium- and long-term underground mine planning across day/week, 1–3 months, 4–18 months and 18 months-to-life-of-mine horizons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to Mine Planning systems that deliver mine schedules and maximise the value of the underground orebody.
  • Deliver physical schedules for the underground mine with accuracy appropriate to reserve or resource confidence.
  • Build organisational capability within the Mine Technical Services Department.
  • Undertake resource identification and evaluation to optimise the Gold Mine asset.
  • Identify opportunities for productivity and cost improvements.
  • Authorise and oversee creation of mine physical schedules.
  • Develop systems for effective, efficient and safe planning practices.
  • Create standards, procedures and guidelines for planning department tasks.
  • Support Operational Excellence initiatives and value creation.
  • Provide a safe working environment and comply with SHE&C plans and procedures.
  • Develop constructive relationships with colleagues, business partners and stakeholders.
  • Apply Management and People Practices within the Mine Technical UG Department.
  • Report performance against plan and identify and rectify variances.
  • Complete comprehensive handover packages for the Mine Planning team.
  • Implement strategies to optimise mine schedules and maximise underground orebody value.

  • Analyse mining methods, cutoff grade, design, sequencing, infrastructure and equipment requirements.
  • Evaluate economics of mining or study areas and identify optimisation opportunities.
  • Communicate threats to budget delivery, grade, physicals and schedule variances.
  • Implement formal risk assessment processes for monthly schedules and quarterly forecasts.
  • Consider safety in mine design, development sequencing and underground infrastructure specifications.
  • Engage in Operational Excellence programmes and track progress against plans.
  • Identify development needs of direct reports and support effective management of business processes, workgroups, contractors, assets and resources.

Education & Qualification:

  • Degree in Mining Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Professional registration with ERB.

Experience:

  • At least 7 years’ operational experience in an underground mine.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience with mine design and scheduling software including Deswik, Studio UG, EPS, Ventsim, Vulcan and Mine Stope Optimiser.
  • Skills in resource and reserve estimation, underground mine design, infrastructure specification, mine scheduling, equipment selection, cost estimation, planning, discounted cash flow analysis, budgeting, contractor management and consultant management.
  • Sound understanding of mining value and risk drivers.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Behaviours consistent with AngloGold values.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
