  1. Technical Director, Malaria

The Technical Director, Malaria provides overall technical leadership, coordination and oversight for comprehensive malaria interventions under the project. The position provides strategic guidance on malaria prevention, diagnosis, treatment, preventive therapies, surveillance, monitoring and evaluation, while working closely with government counterparts, technical partners and Jhpiego's Global Malaria Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall technical direction and oversight for malaria interventions.
  • Lead the design, planning, implementation and scale-up of malaria activities.

  • Strengthen institutional capacity at national, regional, council, facility and community levels.

Required Qualifications:

  • Clinical degree in medicine, nursing or midwifery, with a Master of Public Health required.
  • At least 9–10 years of experience implementing or providing technical assistance for malaria control and elimination projects.
  • Specialized knowledge in malaria prevention, malaria diagnosis and treatment, malaria in pregnancy, ITNs, RDTs, laboratory diagnosis including microscopy, or malaria case management.
  • At least 8 years of experience working on large, donor-funded, multi-year international health projects involving malaria prevention and control.
  • Experience training clinical and community-based healthcare workers in malaria prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
  • Experience strengthening facility and community-level reporting and technical leadership.
  • In-depth understanding of Tanzania's healthcare system and public health system.
