JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Director of Dar es Salaam City Council announces to qualified Tanzanian citizens with an interest in working in this City Council, to apply for ten (10) job vacancies after receiving permission from the President's Office Public Service Management and Good Governance as detailed below:

DRIVER GRADE II - 10 POSITIONS
1.1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF DRIVER II
i. To inspect the vehicle before and after trips to determine its safety condition
ii. To transport staff to various locations on official trips
iii. To perform minor vehicle repairs
iv. To maintain and fill out the trip log book for all trips
v. To collect and distribute various documents
vi. To clean the vehicle
vii. To perform other duties as assigned by his supervisor.
1.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
To be employed, one must have a Form IV certificate and a Class C or E driving license, having worked for not less than one year without causing an accident. Must have attended a basic driving course (Basic Driving Course) offered by VETA College or NIT or another institution recognized by the Government.

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLICANTS
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years;
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must specify the type of disability they have in the job application system.
iii. All applicants must attach a birth certificate certified by a Magistrate/Lawyer;
iv. Applicants who are already Employed in entry-level positions within the Public Service should not apply and are required to adhere to the instructions in Circular Letter No. CCA. 45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November, 2010.
v. Applicants must attach a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (Detailed CV) with a reliable address and phone numbers along with the names of three reliable referees.
vi. Applicants for the Driver Grade II position with a Class E or C license must ATTACH the driving certificates which qualify them for those classes.
vii. All applications must be accompanied by professional certificates, details, certified copies of certificates by a Magistrate/Lawyer which are Form Four, Form Six certificates for those who reached that education level along with a certificate of Driving Training and Skills, Testimonials Provisional Results Statement of Results Form Four and Form Six results (FORM IV FORM VI RESULTS SLIPS) WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
viii. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates have been verified and approved by the relevant Authority (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
ix. Applicants who have retired from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
x. Applicants with different names on their Academic, Birth, and NIDA certificates must attach a DEED POLL.
xi. Applicants with spelling differences in their Academic, Birth, and NIDA certificates must attach an Affidavit for names.
xii. Applicants who submit false information and qualifications will face legal action.
xiii. The deadline for submitting job applications is 24/11/2025.
xiv. Applications submitted outside the procedure specified in this announcement WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
