JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Executive Director of Mbarali District Council (W) is announcing job vacancies for fourteen (14) positions in this Council to qualified Tanzanians, following approval from the President's Office, Public Service Management, and Good Governance. The breakdown is as follows:

1.0 Records Management Assistant Grade II - 4 Positions

1.1. Job Responsibilities
i. Listing incoming letters in the Registry (Incoming Correspondence Register).
ii. Listing outgoing letters from the Institution (Outgoing Correspondence Register).
iii. Distributing files to action officers.
iv. Receiving files returned to the Registry from action officers.
v. Retrieving required records/documents or files for action officers.
vi. Returning files to the shelves/cabinets (Racks/Filling Cabinets) or other storage locations.
vii. Tracking file circulation within and outside the Institution (File tracking).

1.1.1. Applicant Qualifications

  • Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) and possess a Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) Examination Certificate.
  • Must have completed Diploma (NTA level 6) training in Records Management from government-recognized colleges, and must also have computer skills.

1.1.2. Salary Scale

  • TGS C

2.0 Office Secretary Grade II - 5 Positions

1.1.3. Job Responsibilities
i. Typing ordinary and confidential letters, reports, and documents.
ii. Receiving visitors, inquiring about their needs, and directing them to the relevant section for assistance.
iii. Keeping records of events, appointments, visitors, meeting dates, the supervisor's travel, and other work schedules.
iv. Retrieving files and documents required for the execution of work duties.
v. Receiving files and distributing them to officers in the relevant department/unit/section.
vi. Collecting, storing, and returning files and documents to the relevant places.
vii. Preparing minutes and making arrangements for various meetings.
viii. Preparing a list of office supply needs.

1.1.4. Applicant Qualifications

  • Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) education, with a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or an NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies.
  • They must have also passed shorthand for Kiswahili and English at 100 words per minute and acquired office computer programs such as: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Internet, email, and Publisher from any government-recognized college.

1.1.5. Salary Scale

  • TGS C

1.2. Driver Grade II - 5 Positions

1.2.1. Job Responsibilities
i. Inspecting the vehicle before and after a trip to assess its safety condition.
ii. Transporting employees to various locations for official business trips.
iii. Performing minor vehicle maintenance.
iv. Collecting and distributing various documents.
v. Filling and maintaining records of all trips in the "logbook" for all journeys.
vi. Cleaning the vehicle.
vii. Performing other duties as instructed by the Supervisor.

1.2.2. Applicant Qualifications

  • Must possess a Form Four (IV) Examination Certificate, hold a Driving License Class 'E' or 'C', and have driving experience of not less than one (1) year without causing an accident.
  • Must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA, NIT, or another government-recognized college.

1.2.3. Salary Scale

  • TGS B

General Conditions for Applicants
i. All applicants must be Citizens of Tanzania and be between the ages of 18 and 45.
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must specify their disability in the job application system for the information of the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat.
iii. All applicants must attach a comprehensive Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a valid address, reachable phone numbers, and an Email address, along with the names of three (3) reliable referees.
iv. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of Education and Professional Certificates verified by a Lawyer/Advocate, which include Form Four or Form Six Certificates for those who reached that level, and certificates of completion of various training courses, considering the qualifications for the respective job.
v. Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Certificates - Form IV and VI Examination Certificate - Computer Certificate - Professional Certificates from Respective Boards.
vi. Applicants who submit "Testimonial", "Provisional Results", "Statement of results", and Form Four and Form Six Results Slips WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
vii. Applicants who studied outside the country must ensure their certificates are audited and verified by the relevant Authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
viii. Applicants who have been retired from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have special permission from the Chief Secretary.
ix. Job applicants for the Driver Grade II cadre with a Class 'E' or 'C' license must ATTACH Driving Course Certificates that qualified them to obtain the respective classes.
x. Job applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions in the Public Service should not apply and are required to adhere to the directives in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010.
xi. Applicants who submit fraudulent information and qualifications will face legal action.
xii. Interviewees whose names differ in their documents must submit a Deed Poll registered by the Ministry of Lands.
xiii. The deadline for submitting job applications is November 19, 2025.
