JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Director of Mbinga Town Council invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for seven (07) job vacancies in this Council after obtaining permission from the President's Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance as per the following breakdown:

1.0 OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY GRADE II - 03 POSITIONS

1.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Typing letters, reports, and routine and confidential documents;
ii. Receiving guests, presenting their problems, and explaining where they can be assisted;
iii. Maintaining records of the occurrence book, appointments, meeting dates, trips of his/her superior, and other work schedules;
iv. Searching for files and documents required in the performance of work duties;
v. Receiving files and distributing them to Officers in the relevant Department/Unit/Section;
vi. Collecting, storing, and returning files and documents to the relevant sections;
vii. Arranging extracts and making preparations for various meetings;
viii. Preparing a list of office equipment requirements; and
ix. Performing other duties assigned by his/her work supervisor.

1.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT

To be employed, applicants must be Form Four or Form Six graduates with a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or an NTA level 6 certificate in Secretarial Studies. Furthermore, they must have passed a Shorthand subject in Kiswahili and English at 100 words per minute and received training in office computer programs such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher from any Government-recognized College.

1.1.3 SALARY LEVEL

2.0 DRIVER GRADE II - 04 POSITIONS

2.2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. To inspect the vehicle before and after trips to determine the vehicle's safety condition.
ii. To transport staff to various locations on official trips.
iii. To perform minor vehicle repairs.
iv. To collect and distribute various documents.
v. To clean the vehicle.
vi. To fill out and maintain records of all trips in the log book.

2.2.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT:

To be employed, the applicant must have a Form Four certificate and a Class C or E driving license for which they have worked for at least one year without causing an accident. They must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by a VETA College or NIT or another Government-recognized College.

2.2.3 SALARY LEVEL:

GENERAL CONDITIONS

i. All applicants must be Tanzanian Citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must specify their disability in the job application system for information to the Secretariat of Employment in the Public Service.
iii. All applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae with a functional address, accessible phone numbers, and an Email Address along with the names of three reliable referees.
iv. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of Academic and Professional Certificates by an Advocate/Lawyer. These include Form Four/Six certificates for those who reached that level and various training completion certificates considering the job qualifications. Diploma/Certificates, - Form IV and VI Examination Certificates, - Computer Certificate, - Professional Certificates.
v. “Testimonial”, “Provisional Results”, “Statement of results”, Form Four and Form Six Results Slips WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
vi. Applicants who studied outside the country must ensure their certificates have been verified and validated by the relevant Authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
viii. Applicants who have retired from the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
ix. Job applicants for Driver Grade II with a Class E or C license must ATTACH their driving training certificates which qualified them to obtain the respective classes.
x. Submission of false information and qualifications will lead to legal action against the concerned individuals.
xi. The deadline for submitting job applications is 07 December, 2025.
xii. All applications must be sent via the Electronic Recruitment System (Recruitment Portal) through the following address; https://portal.ajira.go.tz/ (This address is also available on the website of the Employment Secretariat by entering the area marked 'Recruitment Portal').
xiii. Applications submitted outside the procedure specified in this announcement will not be processed.
