BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania, part of the world’s leading development organization, is implementing a transformative initiative in partnership with The MasterCard Foundation. This program aims to create a positive and measurable impact for 1.2 million adolescent girls and young women and 9.5 million people across seven African countries, including Tanzania.
We are seeking 57 highly dedicated and detail-oriented professionals to join our team as Branch Accounts and Operations Officers. Reporting to the Regional Accounts Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity, operational efficiency, and effective implementation of programme activities at the branch level.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance and Accounts:
· Manage daily cash handling, banking, and reconciliation processes.
· Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely recording of all transactions.
· Prepare and submit cash requisitions, financial reports, and donor reports.
· Ensure compliance with BRAC policies, donor requirements, and national regulations.
· Serve as custodian of all financial, procurement, and asset records at the branch.
Branch Operations Support:
· Support field activities, including visits to AIM clubs, VSLA meetings, and training sessions.
· Assist in mentors’ recruitment, club space identification, and participant mobilization.
· Lead branch-level procurement and manage inventory of assets and supplies.
· Act as the technical focal point for digital tools like Binsight.
Technical and Implementation Support:
· Support the Branch Manager in activity planning, staff supervision, and achieving programme targets.
· Provide guidance to Program Assistants on participant pathways (livelihood and education).
· Ensure timely preparation and submission of MIS and programme reports.
· Support market development and value-chain activities.
Supervisory and Coordination Support:
· Serve as a key focal point for stakeholders and supervise administrative staff.
· Co-facilitate branch coordination meetings and support monitoring/research activities.
· Lead community dialogues, workshops, and meetings.
General Administration Support:
· Ensure efficient office functioning, adequate supplies, and a safe working environment.
· Maintain record-keeping systems and manage safety and security protocols.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
· Ensure the safety of team members from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation.
· Promote and uphold safeguarding policies and procedures.
· Act as a source of guidance on safeguarding within the branch.
Educational & Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or Diploma in Finance, Accounts, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
· At least 2 years of experience in finance and accounts within the development sector (e.g., microfinance, livelihood, education, agriculture, women’s empowerment).
Required Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
· Experience in project management, coordination, supervision, and administration.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
· Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills.
· High integrity, credibility, and commitment to BRAC’s mission.
