JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Executive Director of Ludewa District Council invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for eight (8) job vacancies available in the Council after receiving approval from the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance as detailed below:-

1.0 DRIVER GRADE II – 4 POSTS

1.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Inspecting the vehicle before and after trips to ensure roadworthiness and safety;
ii. Transporting staff to various work-related destinations;
iii. Carrying out minor vehicle repairs;
iv. Collecting and delivering various documents;
v. Filling in and maintaining records of all trips in the vehicle logbook;
vi. Ensuring vehicle cleanliness; and
vii. Performing other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

1.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS

The applicant must possess a Form IV Certificate with a valid Driving Licence Class E or C and at least one (1) year of driving experience without causing accidents, supported by relevant certificates that qualify the holder for the respective driving classes. The applicant must also have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or any other Government-recognized institution.

2.0 OFFICE ASSISTANT/SECRETARY GRADE II – 4 POSTS

2.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Typing letters, reports, and both ordinary and confidential documents;
ii. Receiving visitors, listening to their issues, and directing them to appropriate offices;
iii. Maintaining records of events, appointments, visitors, meeting dates, official trips of the supervisor, and other work schedules;
iv. Searching for files and documents required for work execution;
v. Receiving and distributing files to relevant departments/units;
vi. Collecting, keeping, and returning files and documents to appropriate places;
vii. Preparing briefs and making arrangements for various meetings;
viii. Preparing lists of office equipment requirements.

2.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS

The applicant must have a Form IV or Form VI education with a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies. The applicant must have passed Kiswahili and English shorthand at a speed of 100 words per minute and be proficient in office computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher from a Government-recognized institution.

2.1.3 SALARY SCALE

GENERAL CONDITIONS

i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged not more than 45 years;
ii. Applicants must attach a Birth Certificate;
iii. Applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae with reliable contact address, phone numbers, and names of reliable referees;
iv. Applicants must upload copies of academic and professional certificates, including Form IV and Form VI certificates where applicable, and relevant training certificates through the Ajira Portal;
v. Testimonials, provisional results, statements of results, and Form IV or VI result slips are NOT ACCEPTED;
vi. Driver Grade II applicants with Class E or C licences must attach valid driving training certificates qualifying them for the respective classes;
vii. All applicants must upload a recent passport-size photograph on the Ajira Portal;
viii. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and approved by relevant authorities such as TCU, NECTA, and NACTE;
ix. Applicants who were dismissed from the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary;
x. Applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions within the Public Service should not apply and must comply with guidelines stated in Circular Ref. No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November, 2010;
xi. Submission of forged information or qualifications will result in legal action;
xii. The deadline for application submission is 11th January, 2026;
