ANNOUNCEMENT OF CONTRACT EMPLOYMENT VACANCIES

The Municipal Director of Temeke Municipal Council hereby invites Tanzanian citizens who are qualified and willing to work at Temeke Municipal Council to apply for the contract employment vacancies listed below.

1.0 ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICERS GRADE II – SIX (06)
(a) QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT
The applicant must hold a Diploma in Nursing from a Government-recognized institution and be registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council.
Duties and Responsibilities:
i) Providing nursing services.
ii) Collecting important health-related data.
iii) Supervising and guiding junior nurses under your responsibility.
iv) Educating patients and the community about their health conditions.
v) Providing preventive and maternal health services.
vi) Performing any other duties assigned by your supervisor related to your education, experience, and skills.

2.0 HEALTH ASSISTANTS – FOUR (04)
(a) QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT
The applicant must have completed Form Four and obtained one-year training in the health field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
i) Cleaning working equipment, wards, and the surrounding environment.
ii) Assisting disabled and helpless patients with toileting (both minor and major) and bathing.
iii) Assisting in feeding patients who are unable to feed themselves.
iv) Taking patients’ clothes for laundering.
v) Collecting patient samples for laboratory tests and following up on results.
vi) Preparing equipment for cleaning and dressing wounds.
vii) Following up on patients’ medication requirements from the medical stores.
viii) Performing any other duties assigned by your supervisor.

3.0 RADIATION TECHNOLOGISTS – THREE (03)
(a) QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT
The applicant must hold a Diploma in Technology from a Government-recognized institution and be registered with the relevant professional boards where applicable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
i) Treating patients referred to your work area using correct radiation as directed by a Radiotherapy Specialist Doctor.
ii) Maintaining radiotherapy machines and equipment in your work area.
iii) Inspecting and supervising the quality of radiation produced by radiotherapy machines (radio-therapeutic quality).
iv) Supervising staff under your responsibility.
v) Providing advice on radiotherapy and radiation-related matters in your work area.
vi) Preparing treatment/diagnostic equipment and supervising sterilization of equipment in your work area.
vii) Providing induction training to staff assigned to work in your area.
viii) Performing any other duties assigned by your supervisor related to your education, experience, and skills.

4.0 PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGISTS – TWO (02)
(a) QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT
The applicant must hold a Diploma in Technology from a Government-recognized institution and be registered with the relevant professional boards where applicable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
i) Classifying, preparing, and ordering medicines and medical supplies required in your work area.
ii) Dispensing medicines and medical supplies to patients and staff.
iii) Compounding medicines.
iv) Storing medicines and medical supplies.
v) Inspecting medicines, medical supplies, chemicals, reagents, and cosmetics in your work area.
vi) Educating the community on proper use of medicines.
vii) Reporting adverse effects arising from the use of medicines.
viii) Coordinating the work of the Hospital Medicines Committee.
ix) Preparing reports on the usage of medicines and medical supplies.
x) Conducting quality assessment of medicines, medical supplies, chemicals, reagents, and cosmetics.
xi) Conducting various inspections in medicine storage areas.
xii) Supervising the performance of staff under your responsibility.
xiii) Maintaining records of medicines and medical supplies.
xiv) Providing induction training to staff assigned to work in your area.
xv) Performing any other duties assigned by your supervisor related to your education, experience, and skills.
