JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Director of Babati Town Council invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for ten (10) job vacancies in the Council, following approval from the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance, as detailed below:
1.1 OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY GRADE II – SIX (6) POSTS
1.1.1 Duties and Responsibilities
i. Typing letters, circulars, and routine or confidential documents.
ii. Receiving visitors, listening to their concerns, and directing them to the appropriate offices for assistance.
iii. Maintaining records of events, appointments, visitors, meeting dates, supervisors’ travel schedules, and other work plans.
iv. Searching for files and documents required for the execution of assigned tasks.
v. Receiving files and distributing them to officers in the relevant Departments, Units, or Sections.
vi. Collecting, storing, and returning files and documents to their respective sections.
vii. Preparing extracts and arrangements for various meetings.
viii. Preparing lists of required office equipment.
1.1.2 Qualifications of the Applicant
Applicants must have completed Form IV or Form VI and possess a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or an NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies. They must have passed a typing test in both Kiswahili and English at a speed of 100 words per minute and possess skills in office computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher from a Government-recognized institution.
1.1.3 Salary Scale

1.2 DRIVER GRADE II – FOUR (4) POSTS
1.2.1 Duties and Responsibilities
i. Inspecting vehicles before and after trips to determine their safety condition.
ii. Transporting staff to various locations on official duties.
iii. Performing minor vehicle repairs.
iv. Maintaining and recording all trips in a vehicle logbook.
v. Collecting and distributing various documents.
vi. Cleaning and ensuring proper maintenance of the vehicle.
vii. Performing any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
1.2.2 Qualifications of the Applicant
Applicants must possess a Form IV Certificate and a valid Class E or C Driving License with a working experience of not less than one (1) year without causing an accident. They must also possess driving training certificates qualifying them for the relevant license class and must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by a VETA College or another Government-recognized institution.
1.2.3 Salary Scale

GENERAL CONDITIONS
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must indicate their disability in the job application system for the attention of the Public Service Employment Secretariat.
iii. All applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a functional address, accessible telephone numbers, an active email address, and names of three (3) reliable referees.
iv. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of academic and professional certificates certified by an Advocate or Lawyer, including Form IV or Form VI certificates and certificates of relevant completed training such as Postgraduate, Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma, Certificate, Computer Certificate, and Professional Certificates from respective Boards.
v. Submission of testimonials, provisional results, statements of results, and Form IV or Form VI result slips will not be accepted and candidates submitting such documents will not be allowed to proceed to the interview stage.
vi. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and validated by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTVET).
vii. Retired Public Service employees are not allowed to apply unless they have written permission from the Chief Secretary.
viii. Applicants for Driver Grade II positions with Class E or C licenses must attach driving training certificates qualifying them for the respective license classes.
ix. Employees currently holding temporary positions in the Public Service are not allowed to apply and must comply with Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November, 2010.
x. Submission of false information or qualifications will result in legal action.
xi. Applicants whose names differ across their documents must submit a registered Name Change Affidavit (Deed Poll) registered by the Ministry of Lands.
