JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Executive Director of Gairo District Council invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for seven (7) job vacancies in the Council, following approval from the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance, as detailed below:

1.0 RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II – TWO (2) POSTS

1.1 Duties and Responsibilities
i. Registering incoming correspondence in the incoming correspondence register.
ii. Registering outgoing correspondence of the institution in the outgoing correspondence register.
iii. Distributing files to action officers.
iv. Receiving files returned to the registry from action officers.
v. Searching for records, documents, or files required by officers.
vi. Returning files to racks, filing cabinets, or other storage locations.
vii. Tracking the movement of files within the institution (file tracking).
viii. Performing other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

1.2 Qualifications of the Applicant
Applicants must have completed Form IV or Form VI and possess a Diploma or NTA Level 6 in Records Management from a Government-recognized institution, with computer skills.

1.3 Salary Scale
TCS C

2.0 DRIVER GRADE II – FIVE (5) POSTS

2.1 Duties and Responsibilities
i. Inspecting vehicles before and after trips to determine their safety condition.
ii. Transporting staff to various locations on official duties.
iii. Performing minor vehicle repairs.
iv. Collecting and distributing various documents.
v. Recording and maintaining information for all trips in the trip logbook.
vi. Cleaning the vehicle.
vii. Performing other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

2.2 Qualifications of the Applicant
Applicants must possess a Form IV Certificate and a valid Class E or C Driving License with a working experience of not less than one (1) year without causing an accident. They must also possess driving training certificates qualifying them for the relevant license class and must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by a VETA College or another Government-recognized institution.

TCS B

3.0 GENERAL CONDITIONS

i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must indicate their disability in the job application system for the information of the Public Service Employment Secretariat.
iii. All applicants must attach a birth certificate certified by an Advocate/Lawyer.
iv. All applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a reliable address, telephone numbers, and names of three (3) reliable referees.
v. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of academic and professional certificates. Applicants must attach certified copies of all certificates, including birth certificate, Form IV and Form VI certificates (for those who reached that level), and certificates of relevant completed training, all certified by an Advocate/Lawyer.
vi. Testimonials, provisional results, statements of results, and Form IV or Form VI results slips will not be accepted.
vii. Applicants must possess a National Identification Card or National ID Number.
viii. Applicants with name discrepancies between the National ID and academic or professional certificates, Form IV, Form VI, and birth certificate must attach a Deed Poll (certificate of registration of name change).
ix. Applicants with spelling or letter discrepancies between the National ID and academic or professional certificates, Form IV, Form VI, and birth certificate must attach an Affidavit (Oath).
x. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and approved by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
xi. Applicants must not have been convicted of any criminal offense.
xii. Employees currently holding temporary positions in the Public Service are not allowed to apply and must comply with Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November, 2010.
xiii. Submission of false information will result in legal action.
xiv. The deadline for submitting job applications is 17th January, 2026.
