JOB VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT

The Director of Tandahimba District Council announces to Tanzanians who possess the required qualifications to apply for fifteen (15) job vacancies in this Council, after obtaining permission from the President's Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, as detailed below:-

1.0 OFFICE SECRETARY II – 7 POSTS

1.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Typing letters, reports, and ordinary and confidential documents;
ii. Receiving visitors, addressing their issues, and directing them to where they can get assistance;
iii. Keeping records of events, appointments, meeting dates, the Head of Department's travel, and other work schedules;
iv. Retrieving files and documents required for carrying out work duties;
v. Receiving files and distributing them to officers in the relevant Divisions, Units, and Sections;
vi. Collecting, keeping, and returning files and documents to the relevant sections;
vii. Compiling minutes and making preparations for various meetings; and
viii. Preparing a list of office supply requirements.

1.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT

The applicant must have Form IV or Form VI education and have completed a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or an NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies. Furthermore, the applicant must have passed Kiswahili and English typing at a speed of 100 words per minute and have knowledge of office computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher from a college recognized by the Government.

2.0 RECORDS ASSISTANT II – 1 POST

2.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Listing incoming letters in the Incoming Correspondence Register;
ii. Listing outgoing letters in the Outgoing Correspondence Register;
iii. Distributing files to Action Officers;
iv. Receiving files returned to the registry from Action Officers;
v. Retrieving records, documents, or files required by Action Officers;
vi. Returning files to racks, filing cabinets, or other storage locations;
vii. Monitoring the movement of files inside and outside the Institution.

2.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT

The applicant must have Form IV or Form VI education and have completed a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Records Management from a college recognized by the Government, along with computer skills.

2.1.3 SALARY SCALE

3.0 DRIVER II – 7 POSTS

3.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Inspecting the vehicle before and after a trip to ascertain its safety condition;
ii. Transporting employees to various places for work-related trips;
iii. Performing minor vehicle repairs;
iv. Collecting and distributing various documents;
v. Filling out and keeping records of all trips in the logbook.

3.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANTS

The applicant must have a Form IV Certificate and a Class E or C Driving License for vehicles they have driven for a period of not less than one (1) year without causing an accident, along with training certificates that qualified them to obtain the relevant classes. Furthermore, the applicant must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA College or another college recognized by the Government.

3.1.3 SALARY SCALE

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.
ii. Applicants must attach a Birth Certificate certified by an Advocate/Lawyer.
iii. Applicants must attach a detailed self-sufficient CV containing an address, reliable phone numbers, and names of reliable referees.
iv. All applicants must upload copies of their academic certificates, Form IV and Form VI certificates (for those who reached that level), and certificates for completing various trainings relevant to the applied position through the Ajira Portal.
v. Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statements of Results, or Statement of Results for Form IV and Form VI are NOT ACCEPTABLE.
vi. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and should specify their disability in the Recruitment Portal for information purposes for the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat.
vii. Applicants for the position of Driver II with a Class E or C Driving License MUST ATTACH driving training certificates that qualified them to obtain the relevant classes.
viii. All applicants must upload two (2) recent passport size photographs on the Ajira Portal.
ix. Applicants who studied outside the country must ensure their certificates are verified and authenticated by relevant authorities including TCU, NECTA, and NACTE.
x. Applicants who have retired from the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
xi. Applicants already employed in entry-level positions within the Public Service should not apply and must adhere to Circular Ref. No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November, 2010.
xii. Submission of false information and qualifications will result in legal action being taken against the applicant.
xiii. The deadline for submitting applications is 8th March, 2026.
