POSITION: FIELD RESEARCH ASSISTANT
ELIGIBILITY: Tanzanian Nationals Only
CONTRACT: Full-Time | 2-Year Contract
LOCATION: Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Tanzania

YOUR ROLE
- Lion Monitoring: Track and monitor lions, including collared lions, and record observations and movements.
- Research & Data: Collect, process and contribute to lion monitoring and conflict data.
- Human-Wildlife Coexistence: Support collection and verification of lion-livestock conflict information.
- Community & Team Support: Work with KopeLion field teams, researchers, communities and other stakeholders.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Education: Secondary education for Field Assistant, or Diploma/BSc+ in Wildlife Management, Biology or a related natural science for Research Assistant.
- Experience: 5+ years in wildlife research, monitoring and/or conservation.
- Driving: Valid licence with 5+ years' driving experience, including strong 4x4 off-road experience.
- Technical Skills: English & Swahili, Excel, Word, Email, and Basic QGIS/ArcGIS.
- Field Readiness: Able to work independently in remote areas, including early mornings, late nights, long hours and camping.
ADDED ADVANTAGES
- Kimaa language skills
- Experience with telemetry tracking of collared animals
