JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Director of Mtwara District Council invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for fourteen (14) job vacancies in this Council after obtaining permission from the President's Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance as per the following breakdown:
1.0 OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY GRADE II – 2 POSITIONS
1.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Typing letters, reports, and routine and confidential documents.
ii. Receiving guests, presenting their problems, and directing them to where they can be assisted.
iii. Maintaining records of the occurrence book, appointments, meeting dates, trips of his/her superior, and other work schedules.
iv. Searching for files and documents required in the performance of work duties.
v. Receiving files and distributing them to officers in the Divisions, Units, and relevant Sections.
vi. Collecting, storing, and returning files and documents to the relevant sections.
vii. Arranging extracts and making preparations for various meetings.
viii. Preparing a list of office equipment requirements.
1.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
To be employed, the applicant must have Form Four (Form IV) or Form Six (Form VI) education and have a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or an NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies. Furthermore, they must have passed a Shorthand subject in Kiswahili and English at 100 words per minute and acquired Office computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher from any Government-recognized College.

2.0 RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II - 5 POSITIONS
2.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Listing incoming letters in the register (Incoming Correspondence Register).
ii. Listing outgoing letters from the Institution (Outgoing Correspondence Register).
iii. Distributing files to action officers.
iv. Receiving files returning to the registry from action officers.
v. Searching for records/documents or files required by action officers.
vi. Returning files to the file racks/filing cabinets or other storage places.
vii. Tracking the movement of files within and outside the Institution (File tracking).
2.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
To be employed, the applicant must have Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) education and have completed a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in the field of Records Management from Government-recognized colleges, along with computer skills.
2.1.3 SALARY LEVEL

3.0 DRIVER GRADE II – 7 POSITIONS
3.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To inspect the vehicle before and after trips to determine the vehicle's safety condition.
ii. To transport staff to various locations on official trips.
iii. To perform minor vehicle repairs.
iv. To collect and distribute various documents.
v. To fill out and maintain records of all trips in the log book.
vi. To clean the vehicle.
vii. To perform other duties as assigned by his/her Supervisor.
3.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANTS
To be employed, the applicant must have a Form Four (Form IV) Certificate and a Class E or C driving license for which they have worked for at least one year without causing an accident, along with training certificates which qualified them to obtain the respective classes. They must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by a VETA College or another Government-recognized College.
3.1.3 SALARY LEVEL

GENERAL CONDITIONS
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian Citizens aged not above 45 years.
ii. Applicants must attach a Birth Certificate.
iii. Applicants must attach a detailed personal description (Detailed C.V) with an Address, reliable Phone Numbers along with the names of reliable referees.
iv. All applicants must upload copies of professional certificates and Form Four and Form Six certificates on the Ajira Portal.
v. Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statement of Results, Form Four and Six Results Slips ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.
vi. Driver applicants with a Class E or C license must attach their Driving Training certificates.
vii. All applicants must attach two recent passport-size photographs on the Ajira Portal page.
viii. Applicants who studied outside the country must ensure their certificates are verified and validated by TCU, NECTA, and NACTE.
ix. Applicants who have retired from the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
x. Job applicants who are already employed in intern positions within the Public Service should not apply.
xi. Submission of false information and qualifications will lead to legal action.
xii. The deadline for submitting applications is 03 December, 2025.
