JOB OPPORTUNITIES ANNOUNCEMENT

The Executive Director of Nachingwea District Council announces to qualified Tanzanians job opportunities for fifteen (15) positions in this Council after receiving permission from the President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, as follows:

1.0 DRIVER GRADE II – 2 POSITIONS

1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To inspect the vehicle before and after trips to determine its safety condition;
ii. To transport staff to various areas for official work trips;
iii. To perform minor vehicle repairs;
iv. To deliver and distribute various documents as required;
v. To fill and maintain records of all trips in the logbook;
vi. To clean the vehicle; and
vii. To perform any other duties assigned by the employer.

1.2 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS
Recruited from individuals with a Form Four education and a Class C or E Driving License, who have worked for a period of at least one year without causing an accident, and who possess a certificate qualifying them for the relevant grade. Additionally, they must have attended the Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or another government-recognized college.

2.0 PERSONAL SECRETARY GRADE II – 8 POSITIONS

2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To type letters, reports, and both open and confidential documents;
ii. To receive visitors, listen to their concerns, and direct them to the appropriate offices;
iii. To maintain records of events, appointments, visitors, meeting dates, trips of the head of office, and other work schedules;
iv. To retrieve files and documents required for duty execution;
v. To receive and distribute files to Officers in the respective Departments/Sections;
vi. To collect, store, and return files and documents to the relevant areas;
vii. To prepare agendas and meeting arrangements;
viii. To prepare a list of office equipment requirements; and
ix. To perform any other duties assigned by the employer.

2.2 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS
Recruited from individuals with a Form Four education and a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Secretarial Studies from a government-recognized college. Additionally, they must have passed Shorthand in Swahili and English at a speed of 80 words per minute (80 w.p.m) and have proficiency in computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher from government-recognized institutions.

3.0 RECORDS MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT GRADE II – 5 POSITIONS

3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To list incoming letters in the register (incoming correspondence register);
ii. To list outgoing letters from the institution (outgoing correspondence register);
iii. To distribute files to action officers;
iv. To receive files returned to the registry from action officers;
v. To search for records/documents/files required by action officers;
vi. To return files to racks/filing cabinets or other designated storage areas;
vii. To track file movement within the institution (file tracking); and
viii. To perform any other duties assigned by the employer.

3.2 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS
Recruited from individuals with a Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) education who have graduated with a Diploma or NTA Level 6 in Records Management from government-recognized colleges and possess computer skills.

3.3 SALARY SCALE

GENERAL CONDITIONS

i. The applicant must be a Tanzanian citizen aged between 18 and 45 years.

iii. Applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a reliable address, telephone number, and email address, along with the names of three credible referees.
iv. "Provisional/Testimonials/Statement of Results" and Form IV and VI result slips WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
v. All applicants must attach a birth certificate certified by a Lawyer/Advocate.
vi. Retired public servants are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
vii. Applicants who are already public servants and have obtained qualifications to enter a different cadre must pass their applications through their current employers.
viii. Public servants currently in positions within the Public Service should not apply and are required to follow the instructions in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November 2010.
ix. All applications must be accompanied by certified academic certificates from a Lawyer/Advocate, including Form IV, Form Six (where applicable), and professional certificates.
x. Applicants who studied abroad must ensure their certificates are certified by the relevant authorities (TCU, NACTE, and NECTA).
xi. Submission of forged information and qualifications will lead to legal action.
xii. Application letters should be written in Swahili or English.
xiii. The deadline for receiving application letters is Friday, February 07, 2026.
