ANNOUNCEMENT OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR 5,631 YOUTHS TO ENROLL IN
SHORT-TERM VOCATIONAL SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAMMES
AT VETA INSTITUTIONS THROUGH THE YEFFA PROJECT
- INTRODUCTION
The Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) has entered into a partnership agreement with AMSHA, RUATI, TAMA, and MIBOS institutions through the Youth Entrepreneurship for the Future of Food and Agriculture (YEFFA) Project. The project is funded by AGRA Tanzania and is implemented through VETA Colleges at Kihonda, Manyara, Mpanda, and Arusha (Oljoro).
The training will be conducted in four phases, with the first phase scheduled to begin on 19 January 2026.
The project will benefit a total of 5,631 Tanzanian youths from the regions of Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Tanga, Lindi, Morogoro, Pwani, Ruvuma, Njombe, Iringa, Manyara, Singida, Dodoma, Tabora, Katavi, Kigoma, Rukwa, Mbeya, Songwe, and Kagera.
VETA invites applications from eligible youths to join vocational skills training programmes under the YEFFA Project. The training will be offered as a Day Programme only.
- TRAINING PROGRAMMES OFFERED
The following short-term courses will be provided:
i. Agro-Mechanics (Agricultural Tools and Equipment Technology) – Training duration: Four (4) weeks
ii. Irrigation Technology – Training duration: Two (2) weeks
iii. Post-Harvest Technology – Training duration: Two (2) weeks

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
An applicant must meet the following qualifications:
i. Be a Tanzanian youth aged between 15 and 35 years.
ii. Be able to read and write, with primary education or above. -
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
i. Applications shall be submitted online through the VETA application system available at www.veta.go.tz or by obtaining hard-copy application forms from the following VETA Colleges: Kihonda, Manyara, Mpanda, Moshi, Tanga, Lindi, Pwani, Songea, Iringa, Ludewa, Singida, Dodoma, Tabora, Kigoma, Rukwa, Mbeya, Kagera, and Arusha (Oljoro).
ii. Applicants must submit completed application forms together with a birth certificate or a letter from the Street/Village Government Chairperson, and copies of academic certificates attained.
iii. Completed forms shall be submitted to the respective VETA College or online through the application system.
iv. All application forms are provided free of charge. -
APPLICATION PERIOD
Application forms will be available from 19 December 2025, and the deadline for submission is 2 January 2026. -
TRAINING FEES AND OTHER COSTS
Training tuition fees will be fully covered by the Project. Other costs such as transport, meals, and accommodation for trainees coming from distant areas shall be borne by the parent, guardian, or the trainee.
Women and persons with special needs will be given priority.
