MUHIMBILI UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH AND ALLIED SCIENCES (MUHAS)

The Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) is a Tanzanian premium Health and Allied Sciences University established in 2007 under the Universities Act No. 7 of 2005. In line with its mandate to strengthen academic, research, and operational capacity, MUHAS invites applications from suitably qualified Tanzanian candidates for the following positions:


PROJECT: Consortium of Research Studies in Children – MUHAS

Type of Employment: Full-time contract for one (1) year

A. CLINICAL OFFICER – 4 POSTS

Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct clinical examinations and assessments
• Collect and manage study data
• Provide medical care and support to study participants
• Collaborate with research team members
• Adhere to study protocols and GCP guidelines
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience
• Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution
• Registered with the Medical Council of Tanzania (MCT)
• At least 1–2 years of clinical experience
• Research experience is an added advantage

Salary
• Competitive remuneration package

B. ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER – 4 POSTS

Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct clinical examinations and assessments
• Collect and manage study data
• Provide nursing care and support to participants
• Collaborate with research team members
• Adhere to study protocols and GCP guidelines
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience
• Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution
• Registered with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwives Council
• At least 1–2 years of clinical experience
• Research experience is an added advantage

Position: Business Administrative Officer II – 1 Post
Type of Employment: Full-time contract for two (2) years

Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide administrative and clerical support to the Unit
• Coordinate meetings, workshops, and official missions
• Maintain filing systems and proper documentation
• Support preparation of reports, proposals, and presentations
• Manage office supplies and assets
• Facilitate internal and external communication
• Track action points, deadlines, and deliverables
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Development Planning, Development Finance, or Investment Planning
• At least three (3) years of relevant working experience

Salary Scale
• PGSS 6.1

SCHOOL OF PHARMACY ENTERPRISE CENTRE (SOPEC)

Position: Volunteer Pharmaceutical Technician – 2 Posts
Nature of Engagement: Volunteer

Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist in formulation and production of soap, hand wash, mouthwash, and methylated spirit
• Ensure proper handling, packaging, and labeling of products
• Maintain good manufacturing and hygiene practices
• Assist in quality control and documentation
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
• Certificate or Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology
• Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical production and quality control

Position: Research Administrator Officer II – 1 Post
Type of Employment: Full-time contract for one (1) year

Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinate international collaborations and exchange programs
• Support international student recruitment and services
• Organize workshops, seminars, and convocation activities
• Manage alumni database and stakeholder communication
• Data collection, analysis, and report writing
• Manage unit website and social media platforms

Qualifications
• Bachelor Degree in one of the following:
Doctor of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dental Surgery, Environmental Health Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, or Medical Laboratory Sciences
• Applicants must attach a one-page statement explaining suitability for the role

Salary Scale
• PGSS 6.1
