(HIHEA TZ) is a Non-Governmental Organization registered in Tanzania since 2018 and part of the Hand in Hand Global Network. The organization’s vision is to empower society, especially women, through the creation of sustainable enterprises and jobs. HIHEA TZ operates in six branches: Moshi, Arusha, Manyara, Singida, Dodoma and Meatu.
The organization works with marginalized communities focusing on economic and social empowerment using a participatory approach to help people fight poverty and vulnerability. Its enterprise and job creation approach is based on self-help philosophy, providing training, skills and support to enable people living in poverty, particularly women, to build and sustain independent, market-based economic activities. This contributes to increased income, food security, education, healthcare access, improved housing and overall livelihoods.

- JOB SUMMARY – PURPOSE
The position is responsible for implementing program activities, specifically projects within assigned target areas and communities, in compliance with established policies and procedures.
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Select, identify and recruit potential groups and members in accordance with established operational policies.
Screen and select high-potential businesses in line with minimum selection criteria.
Work closely with clients to develop and articulate growth plans demonstrating impact, growth and long-term financial sustainability.
Provide practical advice and technical assistance in finance, sales and marketing, operations and staffing to support business growth.
Advise and assist clients in product development, sales and marketing strategies and customer acquisition.
Create general awareness of HIHEA TZ operations through promotion and outreach in assigned areas.
Foster market linkages by connecting members to market opportunities.
Facilitate financial linkages between clients and financial service providers.
Analyze businesses, identify obstacles to growth and provide viable solutions.
Ensure collection of member personal information and fully completed registration forms.
Prepare and submit daily, monthly, semi-annual and annual reports in a timely manner.
Collaborate with government agencies and local NGOs in consultation with the Branch Manager.
Represent HIHEA TZ in designated areas and participate in relevant forums and development committees.
Participate in monitoring and evaluation activities including data provision, documentation of case studies and adoption of best practices.
Create and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, beneficiaries, partners and government agencies.
Maintain quality standards and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Ensure proper documentation and record keeping through effective filing systems.
Maintain HIHEA TZ assets including equipment, tools and motorcycles and report damages promptly.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
a. Level of Education / Academic Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, Agribusiness Cooperative, Microfinance, Marketing, Business Management, Administration, Commerce or a related field.
b. Specialized Training / Professional Qualifications
Training in Community Development, Social Sciences, Agribusiness Cooperative, Microfinance, Marketing, Business Management, Administration, Commerce or related fields.
c. Competencies, Abilities and Skills Required
Strong understanding of peri-rural development and financing.
Ability and passion to work with marginalized rural and peri-urban communities.
High integrity, positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
Working knowledge of basic accounting, financial reporting and budgeting.
Demonstrated initiative and consistent performance as a BRO for at least one year in HIHEA TZ.
Strong interpersonal, public relations and community mobilization skills.
Computer literacy with knowledge of MS Office applications.
Self-driven with ability to work under minimal supervision.
Good planning, organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
Motorcycle riding license and experience is an added advantage.
d. Relevant Work Experience
Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience in a similar position within an NGO context.
