ANNOUNCEMENT OF JOB VACANCIES

The Director of Kyela District Council announces to qualified Tanzanians to apply for eight (08) job vacancies in this Council after obtaining permission from the President's Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, with the following breakdown:-


1.0 DRIVER GRADE II – 06 POSITIONS

1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. To inspect the vehicle before and after a trip to ascertain the safety condition of the vehicle.
ii. To take employees to various places on work-related trips.
iii. To carry out minor vehicle repairs.
iv. To prepare and distribute various documents when required.
v. To fill in and maintain records of all trips in the logbook.
vi. To clean the vehicle.
vii. Other duties as assigned by the employer.

1.2 QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT

To be employed, one must have a Form Four education and a Class C or E driving license for vehicles they have operated for a period not less than one year without causing an accident, and also possess a certificate qualifying them for the relevant class. Furthermore, they must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA College or any other college recognized by the Government.

2.0 OFFICE SECRETARY GRADE II – 02 POSITIONS

2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. To type letters, reports, and ordinary and confidential documents;
ii. To receive visitors, inquire about their problems, and direct them to where they can be assisted;
iii. To maintain information and records of events, appointments, visitors, meeting dates, supervisor's trips, and schedules of other duties;
iv. To locate files and documents required for carrying out work responsibilities;
v. To receive files and distribute them to Officers in the relevant Department/Section/Unit;
vi. To collect, maintain, and return files and documents to the relevant sections;
vii. To take minutes and make preparations for various meetings;
viii. To prepare a list of office supply requirements;
ix. Other duties as assigned by the employer.

2.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT

To be employed, one must have a Form Four education and a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Secretarial Studies from a college recognized by the Government. Additionally, the applicant must have passed Shorthand in Kiswahili and English at 80 words per minute (80 w.p.m.) and have proficiency in computer office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher from an institution or college recognized by the Government.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

i. The applicant must be a Tanzanian citizen aged between 18 and 45 years.
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must specify in the job application system the type of disability they have for the information of the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat.
iii. Applicants should attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) containing a valid address, phone number, and email address, along with names of three reliable referees.
iv. Provisional results, testimonials, statements of results, and Form Four and Form Six result slips WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
v. All applicants must attach a birth certificate certified by an Advocate/Lawyer.
vi. Retirees from the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
vii. Applicants who are already Public Servants and have acquired qualifications to enter different cadres from their current ones should submit their job application letters through their employers, and their employers must satisfy themselves accordingly.
viii. Job applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions within the Public Service should not apply and are required to adhere to the directives in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November 2010.
ix. All applications must attach professional certificates certified by an Advocate/Lawyer, including Form Four, Form Six (where applicable), and certificates for completion of various trainings based on the qualifications of the specific job.
x. Applicants who studied outside the country must ensure their certificates are verified by the relevant authorities (TCU, NACTE, and NECTA).
xi. Submission of false information and qualifications will lead to legal action being taken against the individuals involved.
xii. The application letter should be written in Kiswahili or English.
xiii. The deadline for receiving application letters is Friday, 05 March 2026.
